Ok, so today I installed my DVD Drive for FSX. After I install it and hooked everything back up, I start up my computer and everything was working fine. The DVD Drive was able to work, and everything seemed to be ok. So I left my machine on and went out to get something to eat and buy a copy of FSX Delux. I come back home only to find that the screen is blank (The green light is still on which means it's still recieving signal from the machine), and everything was working, I just couldn't see anything. So I did the dreaded emergency shut down and restart my computer. Well apparently that did not help my situation because now my monitor, mouse, and joystick are not recieving any information from the computer. The speakers and keyboards are, but everything else doesn't work. Also the machine is working, because I can hear it working. I don't know what the problem is, I think the DVD Drive is too much for the computer? What do yall think?

I think you should take the DVD drive out and see if the computer works. I also think you should go into your BIOS and turn off all the hippy ACPI power saving bullshit.

And how about the manual? Anything in the documentation for the drive that mentions this sort of issue? Seems real wierd, but maybe it's a common enough happening with that drive to be referenced?

Are you sure that there were no malicious programs on your computer? Or that you've met the minimum requirements?

I don't know, but those are the reasons most of the time.

My DVD drive did not come with a manual.

Yes I am sure, the machine didn't seem to mind when I upgraded the video card or RAM, dunno why it would have an issuse now.

are you sure you installed it right?

take it out and try running your comp without it. make sure all the jumpers on the dvd drive are in the right place (may mean having to read the manual ;) ) make sure you put the cable on the right way and make sure you put the power supply on the right way (its hard to put it on the wrong way, but yet it still happens)

also make sure you have the neccesary drivers for the drive installed on your computer.
