I wish I lived in Wisconsin. That's something you don't hear every day, but I've got a good reason. I want to vote for Ron Kind. His opponent, Paul Nelson, has waged a negative advertizing campaign against him and the "negative" ads make me like Ron even more. Just look at what he's spending money on

Money to probe teenage girls' vaginas while they watch porn and money to study what old men think about when they masturbate. I'm betting they're thinking about probing teenage girls' vaginas while they watch porn.

I plan to vote for every person the Republicans call a liberal in a negative context during their campagin ads. Not because I care to vote for them, but just to spite those fucking assholes for using liberal as a negative thing.
Hehe. I find myself wishing that Wisconsiners agreed with you, DCD... :D

I've been getting emails from this douchebag for weeks now. Never mind that I've never set foot in Wisconsin in my life, and that I'm only on the email list he bought because someone signed me up to it--I've gotten them regularly for the last two months, spelling errors and all. My personal favorite is the way he talks about the scandal surrounding Democratic Rep Gary Conduit.

I don't know if that's more insane or if Vernon Robinson (Republican running for House in NC) is more insane. Seriously, Vernon Robinson's site reads like something out of Landover Baptist.

I posted a link to an ad of his a week or two ago--you're right, he's fucking nuts.

Here's the beginning of the latest screed from the Nelson campaign. Unbelievable stuff, actually, straight out of Wingnuttia.
Nelson Calls On Muslim Leaders to Join Him in Calling for More Stringent Airport Screening Requirements.
Paul R. Nelson, the Republican nominee for Congress from Wisconsin's 3rd District is issuing the following Open Letter to Sumbal Mahmud of the Islamic Center for Minnesota and Muslim leaders throughout the country.
(Letter Follows...)
In the interests of keeping Americans safe from future terrorist attacks, our campaign recently called for more stringent screening measures at our nations' airports. One of those no-nonsense measures entailed the screening of individual that fit the physical profile of the 9-11 perpetrators and other terrorists that authorities have captured for plotting similar atrocities.
In response to our recommendations, Sumbal Mahmud, a spokesperson for the Islamic Center for Minnesota falsely and maliciously characterized our recommendations to Eyewitness News 5 in Madison, Wisconsin as, "mind-boggling," "offensive," and claimed that such screening policies "convict an entire group."
While it should not be necessary to state the obvious, profiling foreign-born Muslim males of Middle Eastern or Near Eastern descent between the ages of 18 and 40 can not, by definition, "convict an entire group," because the vast majority of Muslims worldwide are not foreign-born males of Middle Eastern or Near Eastern extraction between the ages of 14 and 40.
Moreover, it is an insult not only to our campaign but to Muslims worldwide to extrapolate such a boundless accusation.
However, it is not our intention to point fingers or cast aspersions but to seek your help and the help of Muslim leaders across the country in fighting these vile individuals who have "hi-jacked" and mock your profoundly held religious beliefs by their heinous actions.Nice rhetoric. He's basically telling American Muslims "we don't want to call you unAmerican, but if you don't agree with us and submit to what we want to do to you, you'll leave us no choice but to discriminate against you, which is what we want to do anyway.

I like his "Twilight Zone" ad that shows him approving of traditional American values while a shot from Leave it to Beaver plays. He seems to forget that it's a show that aired in the fifties when people of his skin color were being lynched for looking at a white woman in order to preserve traditional American values.
Paul R. Nelson sounds like he has a crayon jammed up his nose.

I haven't been able to watch any of the ads because his website keeps freezing up, and it's not my service because I'm at work on the University's system.
