Inspired by that other coffee thread, here's another, with a poll.

How do you make coffee? Do you make espresso, turkish coffee, push a button on the coffee machine at work...

Paper cone filter with a rain drip, not too fancy right now.

I have been known to drink cowboy coffee while camping though.

I know that Velka Morava uses paper cone filters.
What is cowboy coffee? Something similar to Turk-style?

I still don't drink coffee. Though I have tried it many times, usually from a percolator - it's ok, but when compared to tea there's just no contest.

Instant coffee is just nasty.

I am a qualified barista, and so my job is to make coffee. (very good coffee too) the coffee that we use is fair-trade, organic arabica bean, dry method harvested which gives a very good full flavour.

I personally like a cappuccino with a shot of caramel in the morning.

By the way..it's Mocha.....

I also like a well made smooth latte, but the milk needs to be homogenized for it to foam well, and it is not easy to buy that kind of milk yourself, all of ours is specially sourced from a particular herd with controlled diet to maintain the quality.

Does anybody like macchiato? It is becoming increasingly popular, and I wonder if that is universal

Just so you know, all the coffee I make is based on an espresso, which can have hot water added to make an 'Americano', steamed milk with not too much foam for a latte, milk which is steamed and frothed for a cappuccino, mixed with chocolate for a mocha, and a macchiato is an espresso shot with two or three teaspoons of froth (like a mini cappuccino)

If it's what I'm thinking of, it's basically grounds thrown in the water and boiled and then some rudimentary straining into a cup. That's how I've made it while camping anyway.

i have a steel filter coffee maker. oh hang on, it's an espresso maker actually, but i never have espressos i always just brew two then tip them into a mug with hot water and milk or just hot milk. the best way i've had coffee is sudanese style, it's incredible, they put all sorts of herbs in and cloves and then you can mix sugar in and it's just delicious. plus it gives you the best caffeine high, really strong but without the jitteryness that you can get from normal coffee or energy drinks.

I do have to agree with you on that. I can't wake up in the morning until I have had my first cig and a cup of coffee or tea depending on how healthy I feel like being that day.;)

At home, I use a paper filter in a drip coffee machine. Used to make espresso, but then my espresso machine broke. :( At work it's also a drip machine with a paper filter, but makes much more coffee than my little four cup machine at home.

If I get coffee at a coffee shop, what I order depends completely on my mood. This morning it was a cappuccino.

I generally don't like the taste of coffee at all, although I love the smell, but that's one way I do like it - it's something to do with the atmosphere...

(The only other way I willingly drink coffee is with way too much cream and sugar to digusise it.)

I know that Velka Morava uses paper cone filters.

Almost. Just pour it off the top after the grounds sink.

Considering the Turkish Army ethnically cleansed my homeland and evicted my family from their farm I will always refuse to drink anything Turkish - let alone their pathetic style of coffee.

Note: I am Liberal and open minded on anything accept issues regarding my split heritage.

All else is just a mere shadow of a cup of coffee.
This is to FourBucks (Starbucks) what Smith & Wollensky's is to McDonalds... or perhaps what Starbucks is to four day old 7-11 coffee with half milk left out in the Tuscon sun in the summertime.

The melange is out of this world, have with a sacher torte. :yum:
