no. this is a common misconception. and besides eu membership is a trap. if people knew what would happen, no single country would have entered, and in fact, the maastricht treaty would be rejected by every country in the EEC at that time.

That's not the point, what i said is, that the EU is a nation
Nation; a politically organized body of people under a single government; A relatively large group of people organized under a single, usually independent government;a large body of people, associated with a particular territory, that is sufficiently conscious of its unity to seek or to possess a government peculiarly its own
The EU fits in that. And if it had a constitution, it would be much like the USA, just with different languages for each "state".

How is it not true? The EU is a supranational org, meaning the nations are bound together under a larger central european gov't. Thats what a lot of nationalists hate the EU, because there is national powers taken away from the individual member states, and given to the EU parliament, EC and so on.

They have Puerto Rico on the Central and South America one.
Ahh but Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the United States, Palestine is a non-existant territory. There is no territory called Palestine only the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

In addition, the following countries grant some form of special diplomatic status to Palestine. (They don't recognize it as a country, but they recognize it as something more than not a country)
Belgium
Brazil
Canada
Chile
Colombia
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Italy
Mexico
The Netherlands
Norway
Portugal
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
The United Kingdom
The first list is not necessarily the most illustrious list of countries one could have, but the size of it surprised me. That's over half of the countries in the world, I think.
Edit: 102 countries on the first list. Or 101. I think I miscounted. There are 202 sovereign states in the world, if Palestine is included.

I'm far better at the more important skill of identifying countries on a world map. The states in america are irrelevant to me.
Also - the quiz is more of a jigsaw rather than an actual test.

90%, 16 mile average error, 226 seconds on my first try. Lemme tell you, placing Virginia as the first state can be just a bit tricky, and Nevada liked to screw with me.
I tried it again and got 98% with an average error of 4 miles in 197 seconds. I effed up Colorado by a huge margin but that's it. I blame the state for being rectangular.

Is the EU quarrel still carrying on? :)
There's a central European government. There are rules all of its members must follow. But they are granted significant autonomy regarding internal affairs, much like US states.
Really, the EU is as much a nation now as the USA was 200 years ago.
So we have only ~100 years, and we'll be one nation of Europeans;)

The United Kingdom? England is a nation within the UK, not a province thereof.
