It was brilliant.
The story challenged on so many levels, Im still trying to tie up some ends. At the same time, It was complete and the end hit me like a sledgehammer. The acting was above average but not brilliant. Agh! the story though, Its been a long time since I've been so shocked by an ending- An ending I could never have guessed but made perfect sense!
I am happy with my Cinema choice. I recommend anyone see it.

When I saw the preview, it reminded me of Pride and Prejudice, a chick flick set in the 1890s.
That alone is enough to make me never see this particular film.

Chick flick  ...This movie is nothing like a chick flick...Theres not even a love story involved. The only girl I went with found it highly disturbing. I should stress that a weak stomach may not match well with this film.

Excellent movie. The irony of the ending is beautiful.
Of course, even though I watched carefully, I'm still not sure which knot he tied....
hehe

What is it about?
Without giving anything away: Two magicians whose obsessions to out-do one another end in tragedy...there are deeply seated elements of science fiction in the film. More than that I do not wish to say.

Im still working that out too..but the question of "which" for me does not only refer to the knot. ;)

What is it about?
Competition between two magicians in London. The competition is dirty and dangerous. And Tesla and his inventions end up involved.

It was an amazing movie. First one in a long time I had a debate about with my friends about what exactly happened in the last 15 minutes of the movie.

Ok, so its like real-life illusionist magicians, not like gandalf-dumbledore magicians.

Yes according to the movie they are "magicians not wizards".

Indeed. Although the involvement with Tesla certainly delves into more of a science fiction feel, there's no true "magic" involved.

Tesla was a real nutter.

Tesla was a real nutter.
In the movie, or in real life?
I'd say both. =)

This is the first movie I've watched in a long time that made me question the first 15 minutes after watching the last. :D
