So, what are you all doing to celebrate the return of Lord Rama?

I'm going to look for a good Indian restaurant.

You're not an Indian, are you? :p
I just know because of my interest in religions.

:p

Actually the occasion is the celebration of Lord Krishna's victory over the demon Naragasur.

It is the most popular festival for Indians.

I shall spend the night defending against the War on Diwali! Seeking out those who removed the "Rama" from the "ramalamadingdong", and then . . .
Doing . . . something . . . with them . . .
I actually never could understand what the other lyrics were about, something to do with the linoleum flooring at a disco or Transformers, I guess.

You probably have better musical taste then me, and so I can only offer this (http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Deceptacon-lyrics-Le-Tigre/602CF246104A709C48256C8100244A00), by way of explanation.

Yay. Diwali. Living in an area with a fairly large Hindu population, this means I'm not going to get a decent night's sleep for the next 3 weeks. :(

LOL, an indian couple in my apartment building has two red swastikas connected by a red line across their doorstep. Everytime someone moves out I'm like "please let a jew move in, oh pleeeease let it be a jew"

I used to live in a pretty multicultural neck of the woods, but since moving onto the campus of Lancaster (more like Lancracker) University, I haven't heard a single firework.

Which is a shame because Divali is one of my favourite holidays, I'm going to try and get my flatmates together tomorrow for a meal down at the campus Indian.
