I just googled "priest attacked" and found hardly anything (in the UK)... if this means that hardly any priests get attacked even in really rough areas, anyone got any ideas why?
Why beat up a priest? They're usually broke, won't put up any kind of fight, there's no real reason to. Plus if you're even vaguely religious you wouldn't tempt fate.

Fear of being damned? Because priests are usually nice guys? Because that would make you a pussy?
Priests dont like involving cops or the media as these interfere with their work?

But some people start fights for no good reason, like cus they're bored or whatever. So if a priest walks past a group of people, and they aren't religious and would usually beat people up for stupid reasons, why not priests? I know it would make them cowards as a priest may not be likely to put up a fight, but it happens with non-priests who aint likely to put up a fight, why doesn't it happen with priests?
Perhaps they really do have the protection of St Michael

Why is your default position here that priests should be attacked? I do not see why it is odd at all that you are not finding evidence of such things.

You know, I try to be peaceful, but it really pisses me off when people LIKE YOU make assumptions about me or twist my words for your own ends.
I do not take the position that priests should be attacked. I just find it strange that there are hardly any reports of such incidents.

Yes, that seems like a reasonable conclusion.

A vicar in my town was put in hospital for telling some kids to stop drawing graffiti.

Well try not to twist my words, then. I did not say that you want priests to be attacked, I simply stated that you expected them to be. Otherwise, you would not have done the search and then posted this topic.

I've only ever seen three priests, two at funerals and one inside a church I once went in. I've just never seen one walking around around outside a church. Are they supposed to wear priest clothes all the time?

Actually you said :
Why is your default position here that priests should be attacked? I do not see why it is odd at all that you are not finding evidence of such things.
Which could very easily be interpreted as:
"Why do you think priests should be attacked? I don't see why the fact they're not surprises you".
Surely you can see how the tone of your post indicated that you believed that Multiland was advocating or desiring attacks on the clergy.

I just did 3 quick google searches with google.co.uk and "pages from the uk" checked.
Policeman attacked 155,000 results.
Priest attacked 138,000 results.
Fisherman attacked 29,700 results.
I think we can reasonable conclude that it's in fact the fishermen who are protected by St. Michael and that priests live a very dangerous life in the UK.

No, it just means that there is nothing much on google about it. The actual frequency in the real world is still undetermined.
Google isn't reality you know.

I suspect that you misinterpret the word should in my first post. I did not mean it in a way to indicate that Multiland personally wanted priests to be attacked, but rather that he expected them to be in a more general sense.

Reality has a well known anti-google bias.

Priests aren't attacked because while they give loads of loot, their patron god tends to smite you when you attack them. The spellbooks they carry aren't much use when you're blind. Besides, you end up becoming a murderer and lose several points of luck. And since you're blind, you don't know what anything is and end up attacking shopkeepers or watchmen, who tend to kill you brutally and take your stuff.
