Haircut, or no?

I'm kind of at a crossroads right now. I've been growing my hair out for the past 14 months, and I kinda like where it's going. I'm to the point where I can tie it back, but much higher up on my head than I would like, though that shouldn't last much longer. But....I keep thinking about getting it cut short again. I'm not sure....

What do you all think, particularly the ladies?

I like hair, but you look like you're hiding behind it. You don't have to shave, but the hair must go.

EDIT: But keep the facial hair... that's nice.

Don't cut it off!

I'm not feeling the sleek, super-straight, slicked down look at all - but other than that, I like the last pic best. Between chin- and shoulder-length is great for most guys. :)

<--- oh, also female, btw. :p

if you are going to go with long hair, dont wear it like THAT!

i think you look more compelling in the pic with short hair. one woman's opinion.

there is nothing wrong with long hair but i recommend that you have it grow a few more inches then get it styled by someone who is an expert at such things. you have a good face for long hair and it could look very cool if you do it right.

Unfortunately my hair is inherited from my mom's side of the family. It's very straight and not a whole heck of a lot of body...though I would hate it if my head was all poofy.

It does kind of look bad at this stage, but I decided awhile ago to just grit my teeth and just let it grow to the point where I could get it cut all one length. It will probably be another six months before it reaches my shoulders.

No no no no no, straight is good! But it looks like you comb and slick it down so it it's all super-straight and like plastered to your head. That's what I meant.

It will probably be another six months before it reaches my shoulders. Well, as I said, I like it. When the front part grows out a bit more you could cut it a little all over and a bit more in the back, so front and back are bit closer in length. Doesn't have to be all one length anyway.

Ah, ok. Like I said it's a bad picture, and it does look like it's plastered to my head. It's really not though, I just run a comb through it when absolutely needed and let it be, I don't do anything else to it. It does look slicked, but I don't.

Well, as I said, I like it. If the front part grows out a bit more you could cut it a little all over and a bit more in the back, so front and back are bit closer in length. Doesn't have to be all one length anyway.

Yeah, that's what I was originally thinking when I swore off more trims about 4 or 5 months ago. If I don't end up cutting it completely, I would probably go get it trimmed in another month or two.

Plus I wear a hat all day at work, so most people don't see anything except in the back.

get a mohawk!

but seriously, i always think a buzz cut looks good unless you have a knobbly head, which you don't. i used to have long hair (mine was curly and messy though) and i thought it was awesome but hardly anyone else thought so. then i got pissed off with people telling me to get a haircut so i sheared it all off and i looked much better even though it wasn't what anyone was expecting.

Many people with long hair fail to consider that he hair does need a bit of a trim every 10-12 months just to clean up damage. There's no reason this needs to shorten the hair appreciably.

My hair was as long as yours 18-20 months ago, and I just let it keep growing. It's to the middle of my back, now.

Long hair can work, but you really need to take care of it.

Right now, you look like Jesus. Also, quite attractive. If your job--assuming you have one--does not involve public appearences where you look like society's typicaly "nice and neat" kind of person, I'd say grow it even longer. Buuuut...if you DO need to be neat...cut it.

Oh, you look great with the two middle length hairs. The long one was getting a bit too long, since you're thin and tall. I particularly liked the past-the-shoulder length, though. Not long enough to make you look taller, but it looks really nice.

Definitely keep the hair.

yeah...definatly lose the moustache...it doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look great either...

as for the spikes, yeah. Those look pretty good. maybe let them get a bit longer.

Of course, I'm always trying to get more people to grow a mohawk (despite not having mine right now)

maybe narrow down the beard a little too? I dunno...it might just be the picture, but it looks kinda like a cross between a goatee and a beard

btw..as LG pointed out to Zilam, short hair is great because of how it feels when you rub your hand over it. Nothing feels better.

I'd say for you 4" or more of hair would be ideal. Maybe not as long as the longest length you show in a picture, but the long hair looks great on you. You could go with a shaggy kind of haircut around 4" (similar to the last picture, but more modern), or a shoulder length.

I don't think age should dictate what length hair you should have, some older men look GORGEOUS with long hair, and so do some younger men. It's all about the style, personality, and physiology, not the age.
