Can't see this going down too well in Washington. But they're are certainly running out of options, and if the Whitehouse does truly support the 'free democracy' in Iraq then surely they'll be happy to talk to Iran and Syria about solutions.
Or maybe not.
Talabani backs 'Iran-Syria plan'

Violence in Iraq could end "within months" if Iran and Syria joined efforts to stabilise the country, says Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.

Iraq president name is kinda ironic: US took over Afghanistan to remove the Taleban and then took over Iraq only to install a Talabani.

I'd be more in favor of turning Iraq over to Syria and Iran if we had a comprehensive alternate energy policy.

As it is, we're still addicted to black crack, so it's not going to happen.

"Taleban" or "Taliban" is simply the Arabic plural of "talib", or student, in their case, students at an Islamic religious school.

"Talabani" is not an Arabic name at all, he is Kurdish.

So Afghanistan was run by college students?! Boy, NationStates' version of what a college state would be like is sure off the mark...

Well considering Syria and Iran are the ones supporting most of the whole situation, I could work, after isn't that what Iran wants. Iraq being their puppets?

Thank you, Mr Pedant.

Interesting though: The Taliban was literally a bunch of students, eh?
So Afghanistan's what happens to Lord of the Flies when it takes over a whole damn country.
Makes sense.

We all know that a major component of the violence is being driven by radicals, and that the enemy often crosses both sets of borders.

This could end the insurgency, help put Iraq on its feet, and roll back a lot of the Iranian-American tensions.

It would also be a LOT cheaper (in dollars and in lives) than having to fight this out for the next 5-10 years.
