What's the difference between RPG and roleplaying?

Of the options on your poll, I play RTS, RPG, and turn-based strategy games. I've also been known to play FPS games and adventure games.

Interesting. I've never heard anyone distinguish between the two; everyone I know universally refers to them as roleplaying games, whether or not graphics are involved.

Mostly turnbased strategy i.e. chess.
I regularly play shooters (SOFII, COD) and occasionally RPG's and arcade
