How many Iraqis do you think will heed this call? Will it have any effect on the insurgency?

1) aren't many insurgents from outside of Iraq anymore?
2) They'll never unite. Its like asking the Catholics and Protestants to come back together.
3) They'd have a unified Iraq if we would had left Sadam in power, and none of this would be happening.

Yes, but good luck getting Busheviks to admit that. :(

They can't seem to agree on anything anyways. One day its one story, tommorrow it'll be something else, and they'll always fill the loopholes with attacks against patriotism.

No way, but perhaps they'll get more angry at the Americans as life was better in Iraq under Saddam

I suspect it will have some effect on those in the insurgancy who originally were loyal to Hussein.

Although, while I do want to see a unified Iraq, an Iraq unified AGAINST the U.S. and her allies wouldn't exactly be a very good thing.

Just Arab Sunnis (this excludes Kurds, of course). Most Shiites hate Saddam.

Why should anyone listen to Saddam? The Iraqis are too busy killing each other to make a united fight against the U.S. I doubt that will change anytime soon. Neither we or anyone else is going to have much luck controlling the situtation.

*sigh* No it wasn't.

And Saddam is a complete nonentity today, there is no significant body of people who would be willing to follow him.

Iraqis killing Iraqis just shows how uncivilized, barbaric, lawlessness, etc... they are.

Iraqis for the obvious reasons can not be trusted to find the middle grounds of an agreed and fair rule of law....Therefore, Law must be put into place by the Intn'l community to help the Iraqis. It's unfortunate that so many around the world just "don't get it".

Iraqis killing Iraqis just shows how uncivilized, barbaric, lawlessness, etc... they are.All it shows is that they haven't established a powebalance yet.

Iraqis for the obvious reasons can not be trusted to find the middle grounds of an agreed and fair rule of law....Therefore, Law must be put into place by the Intn'l community to help the Iraqis. It's unfortunate that so many around the world just "don't get it".Just like the US, the factions in Iraq aren't interested in a fair rule of law. They want power, just like your government. They're willing to kill & terrorise to get it, just like your government.

The factions are too many & have too great a following for effective international intervention, just like they're too many & too popular for us coalition wankers to do anything about them.

But you're right about one thing. It's too bad so many around the world just "don't get it" - both our governments included.
