National Boss Day

According to the calendar hanging on the wall behind me, anyway. In the US only.

What would you give your boss on National Boss Day? My gift would get me 25 to life and do quite a bit of property damage. :p

Only if I could watch him squirm after drinking it. As he'd 1000 miles away, I'll have to go with something that'll get on the national news.

For my boss? A rubber chicken. Just something to make him ask, "WTF?"

One day, if you work long and hard you can be despised by your employees too!

hire a helicopter to dangle him over an active volcano/nuclear reactor. When the camera crews tune in, drop the bastard.

i'd give my boss an ounce of respect for a couple of seconds. well i don't actually know if i hate my new boss yet, but i definitely hated my old bosses. i'd give them a kick and a dirty pint.

It isn't that he's evil (or even "ebil") he's just ... just ... such a Darwin award candidate for general dumbness.

For Boss' Day this year I ensured that my boss got a ten percent bonus, a nice lunch out, and the afternoon off to enjoy at his leasure with the female co-worker of his choice.

There are definite advantages to being self-employed and happily married.... ;)

ah...hmm....you could get him a copy of the Darwin Awards, and slip in a page about something he's done, and see if he picks up on it

So it isn't a holiday to celebrate the musical legacy of Burce Springstien? I wondered why it wasn't in September. I think that's the dumbest shit ever.

When they came out with secretary's day I thought that it was a pretty cynical effort to earn the complacency of a frequently undervalued demographic. Any school teacher can tell you that your life will be a lot easier if you keep the secretary and the janitor happy. Picking one day out of the year to give them a card and a gift basket is a pretty cheesey way to do that. Especially if you're the sort of asshole that needs a calender to tell him to do it.

Giving bosses gifts however is what historians and sociologists call the "Tribute System," and it's something that I had thought that western civilization had gotten rid of as a corrupt and harmful practice.

Guess not. :(

Isn't every day Boss Day? Some of my bosses in the past have certainly acted like it.

My boss is something like this, and I'm like Peter (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/e2/Officespace.jpg/300px-Officespace.jpg)
