China's population "advantage" is coming back to fuck it over. As a result of the "one child" policy their aging population has proportionally very few workers coming in to take their place after they retire. It will be the first nation to grow old before it grows rich and that aging could fuck it's economic development.

Up until I moved here for my semester abroad, I wasn't part of the population, even though I'm an American citizen. Population is an estimate of all the people living in the country, including illegals and non-citizen residents.

I think you are. Population is the amount of people living in the territory of the country. Up until I moved here for my semester abroad, I wasn't part of the population, even though I'm an American citizen. Population is an estimate of all the people living in the country, including illegals and non-citizen residents.

I'm pretty sure the number doesn't count illegals, because I think I remember reading somewhere that certain population experts who DO count them say that we've already reached 300 million.

That's not right. That would mean one illegal for every US citizen. I think the numbers of illegals were in the tens, not hundreds of millions. Still way too high.

There could be people that do count them, there could be variations on estimates how as to how many there are, and whatnot.

Actually, you would be wrong. US Census Bureau states an American is born every 7 seconds, an American dies every 13 seconds, and a foreigner enters our country every 31 seconds. They take all into account for this historic milestone..........

If you can get even one stupid person to jump off a bridge or shove one pedestrian in front of traffic the very second that we are statistically likely to hit 300 million, it is my theory that the world will implode.

I will hear no arguments, and to prove my point further, I am now going away.

I think the estimates do include illegal aliens....the Census Bureau calls it "unauthorized in-migrants"

Arg, so close...a college friend of mine had a baby on the 13th, and I was thinking maybe he'd be the 300 millionth American. Sadly, I am disappointed. Oh well. I was asked to be his godfather, so I can't be too unhappy.
