well, how lucky are you? do you believe in luck even?

i'm feeling lucky today cuz in my class i discovered i'd missed my first essay deadline of the semester by four days and the lecturer just said i should get it done by friday. that almost never happens. and i've only been hit by a vehicle when crossing the road twice but i've been nearly hit many times, today nearly got run over by a convoy of trucks that i ran through to catch the bus.

Buy some lottery tickets!

I caught a cold over the weekend so I don't feel terribly lucky. Meh.

I wasn't born in North Korea or some AIDS-ridden African hell hole or worse, a Muslim country, so I've got to consider myself pretty lucky.

The clouds were too low over the weekend for me to jump out of a plane so i'm lucky.......for now anyway

Then again, I don't believe in coincidences. Too many of them happening lately for that.

you were planning on using a parachute i hope. sky diving is awesome fun. the only scary bit is actually getting yourself out of the plane, after that it's a breeze (well more of a gale but you know what i mean). i did a tandem jump so i didn't have to actually jump but when i had to swing my legs out the door and tuck them under the fuselage i thought i was going to shit myself.

I could argue that missing the deadline in the first place, and being hit by a vehicle twice is pretty BAD luck, and it's just not as bad as it could have been.

would i be correct in thinking that your cup is half empty then? ;) missing the deadline and being hit by vehicles (oh and getting arrested and charged) were down to my own stupidity. the luck comes from getting away with it.

update: i think i might have got away with my little altercation with the constabulary which i don't know if anyone remembers. more luck, w00t!

I am neither particularly "lucky" nor "unlucky" except for one thing: Whenever something goes wrong, it never goes altogether awry. Though it can get quite grim for a while, truly serious matters have always worked out in the end.

I wouldn't quite say that "everything always goes wrong for me," but my bad luck is a running joke among my friends. I seem to demonstrate the accuracy of Murphy's Law on a regular basis, I'm afraid.

yay, for lifesavers eh!? i've been clipped by wingmirrors but luckily they were on fairly modern cars so they bent in rather than broke me. nearly got hit by a bus wingmirror though which would have done some proper damage especially since they're at head level.

With all this talk of serious bodily harm, it reminded me that I've never broken anything or had anything more serious than a sprain, despite the number of times I've been bitten, kicked, stepped on, fallen off of and thrown from horses. So in that respect I guess I'm pretty lucky. Don't know about everything else though.

Ha ha ha, irony! :D

I don't believe in luck, I believe that there's situations and odds.

My luck is best described as "amusing". That is to say, my luck varies depending on how amusing the outcome will be. For example, today I feel from a second floor house (unlucky) without hurting myself (lucky) and landed on a €2 coin (lucky). When I bent over to retrieve the coin, I ripped my pants(unlucky). Later on, I used the coin to buy a scratch card, with which I won €10 (lucky), but I lost the card befor I could cash it.(unlucky)

And that's just a normal day for me.
