I guess it's better than letting her crap her pants.

Some teacher is in hot water for letting a kid crap in the trash can. The school was locked down for an hour for some kind of safety drill, and nobody was supposed to leave the classrooms. A kid had to go, so the teacher let her use the trash can.
Now, I'm no expert in educating kids, but I'd say this was the right decision. A kid with a load of crap in her pants would probably have difficulty concentrating on her studies, and would be a smelly distraction to the other kids.

Um...if it was a safety drill, I'm willing to wager there weren't any studies going on...

Way I see it, it did no harm to the school, and thus, nothing is really wrong with it....I don't see the problem.
The janitor would be horrified! :( :p
Everything depends on if the trash can had a bag to hold the contents or not...
Looks like the school's security plan needs to be reworked for that contingency...

What a ridiculous situation.
The whole point of the drill was to simulate a REAL lockdown. In a real lockdown situation, you would probably have a whole load of kids with 'nervous' stomachs adding to the usual toilet-turnover...
This teacher had to make a decision... the decision made resulted in something that is likely to be considered fairly 'not pretty'... but aesthetics shouldn't be the issue - security was the purpose of the drill (which COULD have been a real event), and the teacher maintained security.
Case closed.

No, they just kind of make a muffled thump when you hit 'em.

DCD has been clubbed before and it turns out he's got a surprisingly hard skull.
