What I Plan to Do On My Summer Vacation!

Eutrusca's Continental Tour.

I've decided to take my new Harley Ultra Classic Electroglide on a circuit of the US, with perhaps a side trip into Canada. I don't have the exact itenerary yet, but I plan to start in late Spring by going South through South Carolina, Georgia, and on into Florida, then up the Eastern seaboard, hitting VA, DC, Boston, and up into Maine. Then across the Northern Tier of states to Washington State, down the Western coast to SoCal, and finally across the Southern tier of states, including stops in Nevada ( Vegas, baby! ), Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, MO, MS, etc., then on back to North Carolina.

I'm going to take my time and visit places of interest to me, so it will most likely take the entire Summer.

I'm going to make the trip serve several purposes, the main one of which is to generate support for the Disabled American Veteras ( DAV ). It will be my own small contribution to supporting my wounded brothers and sisters in the US military.

Why? Because I've always wanted to, and because I can! : ))

That sounds like a great holiday, although I wouldn't do it on a bike myself. Don't fall off!

I'll be going on honeymoon next summer, although I'm not sure exactly where yet. We want somewhere nice but not too expensive. Tunisia looks like a strong possibility at the moment.

Try Malta. I've heard it's one of the best honeymoon destinations in Europe (over Rome, Paris, Prague, etc.)

I'm not going anywhere next summer. Got a little trip to Amsterdam planned for January/February with my girlfriend, and that's all I can afford.

KEWL! I really, really like that! :)

When I was about 14 years old, and very unhappy at home, I use to daydream about all the things I wanted to do in my life. Surprisingly enough, perhaps, this is the last of the list. Well .... I did fantasize about becoming rich one day, but I now see that one as being mostly incompatible with the others. Meh! :D

Are you planning on regular campgrounds or doing a tour of some national parks? We want details, man! :D

The trip hasn't been all that firmed up yet. Probably a bit of both; I do intend to hit Yellowstone, for example. I'm going to call AAA this week and see what they can do for me as a member. Hopefully, since I'm contacting them so far in advance, they can give me an itenerary that hits the most important "things to see," good roads for a motorcycle, and regular stops at campgrounds. The only thing I want to make sure of is that I don't have a "schedule" to meet and that I can depart from the plan at any time and place I like. :)

I'll never convince her that I'm safe on one (my cousin in law races them for a living and has broken his collar many times), but I figure I can do it like I did my piercings and tattoos: do it and let her deal with it however she wants. I'm such a good son:p

haha...not so much something in Maine worth doing...more along the lines of lots of cheap lobster and crab that need eating. Beautiful town too...very small, but some cool little shops.

Mystic has a great seaport area...nice boardwalk, great aquarium, the Amistad and a bunch of other ships to go on

Oh, and Salem, MA. Witches. What more do I need to say?

In Mystic, Connecticut there is a place called Old Mistick Village. It's a series of shops that have been built into original buildings from 'the day'. These shops, while a bit overpriced have quite a unique selection of goods. The Silk Road and Imagine are especially interesting. Imagine is actually owned by a former psychologist of mine. Make of that what you will. :)

Southern California isn't that pleasant in the summer (especially the Inland Empire). If you time it for the late fall, that would be the best time to visit.
