As a few of you may know, I have been at war with comcast recently, particularly with their internet service....or lack thereof.

For the last 2 weeks, i have been on the phone with comcast to try to repair my internet connection, they keep telling me the same junk over and over, and all this time i tell them its the modem , and of course they do not believe me. So finally they send a technician down, and in a few minutes he figures out its the modem, replaces it and leaves.

This morning i try to get online, and i find out it does not work.....AGAIN. So again i call comcast asking why this is happening. Turns out i owe a past due balance of 24 dollars and some cents to them so they decided to temporarily suspend my service until the 24 whatever was paid. Since i get paid every 2 weeks (and there isnt a job in this town short of drug dealing that doesnt pay every two weeks around here) i of course dont have a cent.

So I tell them i dont get paid until next thursday, and if they can keep my service on until then they say no they'll shut it off completely and if i want to renew i have to pay the past due, plus a reconnect fee, plus one month of service in advance. I hang up and luckily have an art student friend who can loan me the 25 bucks. I pay it off and here I am.

this was about 1:30 this afternoon.

Oh i forgot to mention at this point i received no bill,notice, or warning of any suspension of service, until at 6pm tonight. The letter was postdated on the 4th.

Work sucked on top of it, but at least i have my beer.

So anyway, does anyone else hate the nazis at comcast?

i know but i cant stand dialup. and this place is wired for the comcast....

and wireless broadband isnt in this area.....:mad:

I see Comcast as the George Bush of the T.V./ISP industry: hilariously incompetant and only capable of repeating itself in every single commercial. Like that one where they showed the guy trying to hook up satallite to show that satallite T.V. was "bad." Thing is, they just made the guy look like a complete and total moron: he had taped the damned dish to a stick for crying out loud!

Of course, we have to deal with Qwest DSL here. :( I wish we didn't, but the only other decent ISP here charges out the ass for the same kind of speed.

We hate comcast here---they held a monopoly over our area for so long I jumped on the first service to ffer an alternative and it will take an unbelievable amount of abuse to get to ever think about going back to comcast.

My beef with them is the same as yours...

They seemed to be diametrically oppossed to customer service, in any form whatsoever.
Hate them.

I'm waiting for Verison FiOs to get here and save me from the evil.

Thats the other thing, here DSL is on par with cable.

I do. But that's because they're trying to run my hometown's socialist cable internet out of business.

I've heard of others dissing comcast, they haven't harmed me...

Commie-cast, pays apartment building owners, to not let other cable companies provide service there. (aprox 100 dollars per apt. per year)

It happened to me in the 90s (I had the other company's service {paid in full} only to come home to no cable) and Comcast is still the only cable company there. 60 units there. 6K per year. Now you know one reason why your comcast bill is so high.
