In a webcomic from 2003, Mohammed was potrayed, not only potrayed, but potrayed as a pig. (Warning, the following link contains images of both Mohammed and Moses as pigs, and may thus be offensive.) http://www.missdynamite.com/comics/strip20030512.gif
Why did the Muiddle east not explode with fury? Why didn't the media blow it out of porportion... or cover it for that matter? Does paper and ink make something more offensive? Did I just miss this scandal? I NEED ANSWERS PEOPLE!

hehe, that was actually pretty funny!

I dunno, maybe the muslium community finally realize that you can't force people to be quiet. You try to silence your opponent with violence, they'll just come back with more cartoons and be more determined. Also they may have finally realized that bitching about cartoons is just silly! Either ways let's hope this is a sign that the muslium community is finally maturing and I welcome it!

Ok then... look it's late people, I'm sorry. Anyway, is something on teh intarwebs less distressing to you then if you saw it in a newspaper?

I mentioned the cartoon was made in 2003 right?

Web comics don't get around as much as newpapers. People need to see something to be offended by it, and this looks like the kind of comic that you had to dig through a few search engines to find. It may have just resurfaced due to the recent outrage over the Danish cartoons. Either that, or web comics aren't respected enough by Muslims to be thought dangerous.

ahh, well maybe not all of them see it. Sure muslium get angry over stupid things, but I doubt they search the internet 24/7 looking for stuff that offends them. They're not that radical.

I dont think a webcomic exactly matches the distribution potential of a major newspaper.

Actually, I found it through a link on Newgrounds... but I s'pose radical Muslims probably don't use newgrounds...

*Sigh* Assuming I plastered that over the internet, and somehow got mulims to see it, do you think they'd be as outraged as over the Dutch thing?

I don't think anyone with the word "radical" attached browses Newgrounds.

Yeah, but whose embassy would they burn?

Yeah, but whose embassy would they burn?

... That's actually a good point. Should we then distribute all potentially offensive material by way of the internet, thus directing blame away from tangible targets?

Not a bad idea, but then they might just distribute the violence evenly, traveling around the world kicking everybody in the shins.

South Park did a whole episode showing Mohammed a few years back. But when they tried to do it again, soon after the angry muslems found something else to bitch about in the Danish cartoons, they were banned from doing it by Comedy Central.
Pussies.
