I just saw a trailer on TV for the latest animated movies abomination, a Nickelodeon production called Barnyard (http://www.barnyardmovie.com/home.html).
Nothing wrong with telling kids stories about talking barnyard animals, although I would have thought that it's been done to death now, but whatever. What I don't get though is, these cows are in fact bulls. As in male cows. With udders, though. What the f... ???

Why bulls with udders? What kind of strange fetish is that? What's the point?
And, no, I currently don't have anything better to do...

It's part of the creepy liberal agenda to make kids accept transsexual cattle as normal.

That movie looks so stupid, it's not even remotely funny. It's just... dumb. Like the pizza guys in the trailer:

"DUDE! I got a arm!"

"Hehehe... righteous!"

"A-doodly-doodly-doodly-doo!"

Yeah, or bring up all the times a certain Central European country was pwned by Germany and Russia...

Agreed, but it's scary that a kids movie is what brings this to your attention, rather than the real, important things that Americans are clinically retarded about.

this is a movie with talking animals and your asking them to be anatomically correct?

once

No, I think it was three or four times. They were also divided between Prussia, Austria, and Russia from the late 1700's until the end of WWI and got owned by Germany and Russia in WWII. They also got hammered by the Mongols.

Although, to be fair, they couldn't have a less-defensible place if they asked for one; miles of open, flat land and geographical location at the gates of Russia and Poland sort of put you in a strategically rough place regardless of military competence.

this is a movie with talking animals and your asking them to be anatomically correct?

Good point.

The question shouldn't be "What are we teaching the kids?" It should be "what are we teaching filmakers and animators in school?" Doesn't that job require some kind of education? Doesn't the production team have some sort of editor of factual continent, or, in the very least, a continuity expert? Seriously, man. The film industry is going down the tubes. Anyone still wonder why I'm choosing stage?

It's Nickelodeon. What were you expecting? They have so many fart/snot/burp jokes it's unbelievable.

Or... perhaps it is a conservative conspiracy to have their view of a lesbian cow on there, but then turn around to say that the liberals are conspiring to teach young children that bulls have udders!

This is why, when I move out of my parent's house, I will never have a TV subscription allowed in my house again. I don't care what my future partner says: No T.V. for the kids. They can spend time reading quality literature, like "The Sword of Shannara" or any of the Xanth novels, or some of Harry Turtledove's fine works. My kids will be educated, respectful, wonderful kids. And they'll be Americans. Imagine that.

I noticed that too. Got rather annoyed about it. Didn't think it was New Thread worthy though.

Alright, that does it.

None of my kids shall ever watch a kids' show that was made after the year 2000. *puts foot down*

It is an attempt to teach children to check the source and quality of the milk before downing a bowl of Cocoa Puffs. Vitamin D has a whole new meaning now.

It's the last verse that's pertinent. Nice song, though.

Willow's Song (from The Wicker Man)

Heigh ho
Who is there?
No one but me my dear.

Please come
Say how do the things I'll give to you?

A stroke as gentle as a feather
I'll catch a rainbow from the sky and tie the ends together

Heigh ho
I am here.
Am I not young and fair ?

Please come
Say how do the things I'll show to you?

Would you have a wond'rous sight?
The midday sun at midnight

Fair maid, white and red,
Comb you smooth and stroke your head
hmm

How a maid can milk a bull
And every stroke a bucketful

Sounds like the character designers need to go see a real cow.
