Is this really an example of Mad? Mad Cow, maybe, but really, I'd say crazy has to be a bit more extreme than that.

(Refering to general going crazy, not just this particular milk issue)

Why, just why?
Why would you want to spend $45US on cow's milk?
I've tried fresh cow's milk before (I used to work on farms over the Summer Uni hols) - and by fresh, I mean within an hour max of having been sloshing about inside the udder fresh - and to be quite honest, it ain't that great.
Dependant on the breed of cow, you get different levels of milk fat.
And there's something not quite right about drinking milk that's at (cow) body temperature.

I prefer mine pastuerised, thank you very much.

If you try to ban something some people go nuts trying to get it just to defy the ban.

I guess to save babies from being force-fed it, who could possibly get very sick from it.

Wow! That's pretty funny. But I agree with some of the pot comparison on the first page. Pot is about as dangerous as a glass of milk.

If your thought process can sicincerely contain the prase "selling raw milk is as bad as selling heroine" then the rest of your vocabulary probably consists of blubbering and drooling.

It's also a violation of federal law to transport raw milk across state lines with the intent to sell it for human consumption.
Isn't that extremely inconvient if the farm is on one side of the border and the nearest processing dairy is on the other side?

Law only applies if your intent is to sell the raw milk as the product to be consumed, not if it's intended to be processed and then sold.

US interstate shipping laws are screwy.

Alright, which is it: Drinking too much milk lately, or have you been hitting trees?

I read the article. I don't think I'd be in favor of ceasing pasteurization, but if I lived on a farm and had cows, I'm sure I'd drink alot of it and be just fine. At over $3 a gallon, that would be one of the perks of being a dairy farmer.

And I know I've drank unpasteurized milk in other countries I've spent time in - straight from the farms of the people we were staying near.
