70 per cent of Afghans could get behind the Taliban

Ok, now while I know the source is from Al Jazeera which means that it may be from a slightly different view point to the western media, but is there a real danger of NATO getting its arse handed to it and what would the knock on effects of such a defeat. If Afghanistan goes tits up, in my opinion Iraq will not be far behind.

As you say, one does have to consider the source. I heard something on American National Public Radio (yes, even that bastion of the Liberal Media Conspiracy!) where Afghanis were interviewed saying just the opposite.

Prehaps Al Jazeera have access to areas that American news networks do not.Does raise an intresting point about the sources of information coming out of Afghanistan and Iraq though.

Its always confused me as to why some people have said NPR is uber liberal. I seem to remember a one Juan Williams as being a host on here...Yes the same one that is now on Faux New regularly. So maybe its really a conservative program, trying to come off as liberal, to make it seem like conservatives are persecuted in the media!:p

Smart move. After all, getting in front of the Taliban seems to be fairly fatal for civilians.
