So I can STILL be killed for coming on NSG?

Yes, my step-dad is at it again. Read the "So I can be killed for coming on NSG" thread to understand. But this time it's not enraged psychopaths who have such a radically different opinion than mine that they would go through the process and take the risks of tracking me down and killing me. This time, IT'S THE GOVERNMENT!

We all know the government is watching our every move. I have to agree with him on that. Big Brother may be even watching this very message board. Now then.

According to my step-dad, someone up in government who is monitoring this board may not like an opinion that I have. He would then send my opinion up to his superiors, and they would track me down, come to my house in the middle of the night, pick me up, and throw me in Gitmo. All because I am posting an opinion on a board. Now I know it's bad, but it is NOT that bad yet. It may be in a few years or months, but right now IT'S NOT THAT BAD.

Oh, let's also not forget that they could hack into our bank accounts and bankrupt us. Or they could track down our family and kill them! And a whole plethora of other things.

Now besides that my step-dad wants me to quit JSA (Sorry bout that UCK). Why? Because there are people in JSA who monitor what I say at the meetings and report it to the government. Since the government has my school records, they'll be able to find me that much quicker. They might even fail me in all my classes! All because I voiced a political opinion

So yes, my step-dad is now telling me not to have a political, religious, moral, economic, or social opinion. And yes, if I do have one, I shouldn't express it. At all. Yes, my step-dad is telling me to get rid of my freedom of speech before the government does. Yes, my step-dad is telling me to let the government walk all over me. Yes, my step-dad is telling me not to have a hand in decisions that affect all of our lives. Yes, my step-dad is ruining my life by telling me to stop doing on of the few things that bring me joy.

Is this complete bollocks or is this complete bollocks?

Oh, and the government has better things to do than monitor the opinions of 14 year old kids.

Well, when they do come for you, just put a smile on your face and sing:

Yo soy un hombre sincero
De donde crece la palma
Y antes de morirme quiero
Hechar mis versos del alma
Guantanamera, guajira Guantanamera

Mi verso es de un verde claro
Y de un carmín encendido
Mi verso es un ciervo herido
Que busca en el monte amparo
Guantanamera, guajira Guantanamera

Cultivo una rosa blanca
En julio como en enero
Para el amigo sincero
Que me da su mano franca
Guantanamera, guajira Guantanamera

Con los pobres de la tierra
Quiero yo mi suerte echar
El arroyo de la sierra
Me complace más que el mar
Guantanamera, guajira Guantanamera

I am a truthful man
From where the palm tree grows
And before dying I want
To let out the verses of my soul

My verse is light green
And it is flaming red
My verse is a wounded stag
Who seeks refuge on the mountain

I grow a white rose
In July just as in January
For the honest friend
Who gives me his open hand

With the poor people of the earth
I want to share my luck
The brook of the mountains
Gives me more pleasure than the sea

Oh, and yeah, "complete bollocks" pretty much says it.

Your stepdad is insane in a new and amusing way. Is the government by any chance tracking him down because he's picking up NSA communications on his fillings?

YES!

My brilliant plan to infiltrate Naliitr's family and subvert him from posting on NSG is working!

Hard to decide which one, but I'd go with "complete bollocks".

What you should do is hire 2-3 guys (twins, if possible!) in dark trenchcoats with dark sunglasses driving a black SUV to show up at your door when you're home, with your step-dad answering, asking for you, looking all serious.
And when you get to the door, they should just have a beauty hand you a pizza or something.

It's complete bollocks. The government likely doesn't care about the opinions of a random teenager; long before they do, you will know that they are cracking down on dissent.

The people they will be concerned with are activists, especially the ones who do not resort to the traditional means of lobbying.

All due respect, but your step-dad is an idiot. The only way the government would ever do something over a message on a board would be if you said "I'm going to buy a gun and kill the President tomorrow." If you do that, then you deserve to be arrested.

If your step-dad is as paranoid as you say, then he probably needs some therapy.

I don't think they are going to start throwing people into prisons based on their opinions. And I wouldn't listen too closely to anyone who says we are headed in that direction. The people of this country are still too freedom loving to alow such tyranny to occur.

We still have the right to keep and bear arms, and I believe that there would be civil war before the people of this country would sit idly by and watch their neighbors, family, and friends thrown into prison because of their opinion.

Now, if you don't here from me tomorrow, then they got meaaaaaaahh!!
