No nation can harm the glorious British empire! Erm... I mean, I don't think nations are really the threat any more - if a nation did want to attack us it'd probably do it through some terrorist organisation to avoid being caught.

I don't see either Andorra nor Burkina Faso in the poll. The OP is abviously trying to obscure the real threats by drawing attention to peaceful, quiet, amiable nations such as the USA.

i would say all of them. especialy the currently most powerful; i.e. the u.s.

i can't think of any nation i would trust totaly, nor at the same time any i would trust less, then the current u.s. administration.

the same goes for major corporations, which are, after the fact, in many ways the equivelant of nations, and in many smaller nations are callously superceding the voice of those nation's people.

I voted for three countries, not on the basis of whether or not they might attack the U.S. in the coming century, but simply in terms of "hot-spots" and likely threats to global stability.

1. North Korea...I don't think I need to explain this one.

2. Israel...whether it's proxy wars, terror bombings, or all out armored conflict, I don't expect peace in the region for a long time.

3. Russia...I don't believe for one moment that Russia will go an entire century without attempting to reassert their direct influence over the former SSRs...hopefully they'll hold off until I'm dead.

I'm American, and I picked America. The reason? No other country can best our military in the field. So we really have very little to fear from China or North Korea or Iran. Terrorist groups are still quite capable of harming us on our own soil, but they aren't a country (unless you count Saudi Arabia).

So ultimately, the only national military that has much chance of invading my home is my own.

actually, andorra declared war on germany when WW1 was started. they stay in this state of war until 1952 or so, because nobody care to include them in the peace agreements.

to the issue, I mostly fear iran. you don't need to invade antbody when you can attack him by terrorists and nukes (matter of few years).

To say that the primary threat is now from an individual state is to obscure the issue. Since the end of the last Great Power War (World War 2) the large nations have rapidly come to the conclusion that fighting each other is a really bad idea. Meaning; the only folks left in the system who really want to fight are quasi-state and non-state actors, whose specific goals are to destabilize the global system and do the exact same thing as "The Black Hand" did when it assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Take note: Without these actors, neither the US nor Israel would feel the need to respond with military force.

3) USA (due to being worst polluter)
