Note, however, that the test seems to assume that I think social welfare and other services (education, healthcare, etc.) should be supplied by the state. Of course, I disagree with any such notion completely and entirely (read the Autonomist Party platform via the link in my sig below to see for yourself). (edit: and the suggestion that the Democratic party is by best match is actually making me physically ill). Social welfare and other such services should be provided by entirely voluntary associations of otherwise free and independent individuals, such as in the mutual and/or cooperative models. At any rate, the PoliticsForum (http://www.orgburo.com/pofoquiz/pofo.php) test has consistantly described me as being for small government and free trade, and yet still a "socialist" or even a "libertarian with a hint of socialism" (my favorite label yet  :D ).

(edit: I used to place, on this test, way down low on the chart in economic liberalism and neoliberalism and what not. That obviously wasn't a very good match either. Alas, Dissonant Cognition is still without a proper home :( )

Took the politics forum test and got some interesting results:

"39% of test takers were more Marxist than you."

Now, I do admire and agree with much of Marx's dialetical history, but I roundly reject almost all of his conclusions.

Right above that it says:

"95% of test takers were more controlled market thinkers than you," and "0% of test takers were more pro free trade than you."

It seems a little contradictory.

"2% of test takers were more non-absolutist than you."

It is rather telling that only two percent of test takers take the beliefs to be less certain than I take mine.
