Warhammer 40k: The Dark Crusade

All I can say is...woot!
Hopefully it will hold me over until I can get my hands on Spore and MTW2 :)

For those who dont know, WH40k is set in the insanely distant future where giant empires of assorted people who hate each other fight with insanely powerful soldiers for no real reason other than that theyve been doing it for a bajillion years already, except for the Chaos, who do it because its fun, or because they hate everything. Oh, and theres the C'tan, who want to eat peoples souls.
Anyway, previously you got to play as the Space Marines (Uber-soldiers, one of whom could take on pretty much any modern army and come out on top), Chaos (Demons from the Warhammer equivalent of Hyperspace), the Eldar (Basically sci-fi Elves, uber-ancient, very techy) and the Orks (Guess :P).
The addon gave you the Imperial Guard who are sort of like a modern army, not as good as the Space Marines but most likely about as well trained and equipped as the US Navy Seals or Delta Force, except with less of a special-ops role.
The newest addon will give you the Tau and Necrons. Tau! Tau for the win! :P
Im pretty much stuck with Dawn of War instead of the real thing now, mostly because the figures are so damn expensive. *grumble* Back in MY day we had affordable model soldiers *grumble*

Oh, sweet is that out! Aw, shit I have midterms to study for so I guess I'm going to have to hold of buying it.:( Yet, I have fall break after that so nothing going on, but work so I'll be able to play it than:D

Personally, I can't wait to see the Necorns. I've given the Tau a spin with the Demo, but the Necrons will be all new and their sounding pretty cool. Not that the Tau weren't good, Kroot totaly kicked ass at least in the Demo.

How dare you insult the Emperor's most loyal subjects! The Adeptus Astartes have fought millenia longer than you have lived! I should have you shot for such heresy!

That is what a Commissar would say ;)

That or you would just be assigned to 'Deadly Gas Clearance'. Your job would be to run ahead of the other troops and breathe as much poison as possible.
It just SOUNDS like something the Imperium would do with Guard.

I've been thinking about getting that game actually. I guess it's good? I know I don’t like most RTSs because they’re just clicking and typing races. What about this one?

Dawn of War is quite good. The intro scene is AMAZING, its practically worth getting the game just for it :P

The gameplay itself is good to, many units will do special 'KO' moves on enemies (EX: The avatar of Khorne bites enemies heads off and flings their bodies across the screen), and everybody has ragdoll physics :)

The gameplay is fun as well, although perhaps a bit more rush-based than I would normally like. The AI is fairly intelligent though, and usually doesnt rush.

Space Marines have Commissars for breakfast - and there's nothing they, or the guard, or you could do about it!;)

Angels of Death to the front! (If only that damned game would run on my computer... :()

Especially Commissar Cain - he'll just stumble over you by accident...
