As the title says, TSI needs a new graphics card...and he is not the most technical person in the world. In fact, TSI is so not technical that he talks about himself in the 3rd person...

Anywhoo, as Mr. Title said, I need a new video card. Currently, I have a X300 SE. It's not a bad video card in any respect, but it's just simply time for an upgrade. That, and Rome Total War gets really screwy on it.

Now, money is really no issue (please don't try to sell me a thousand dollar card), but something else is. I think I have only a 375 watt power supply. I've read through all the stuff that came with the system, and I haven't been able to find that vital piece of information. I'm 90% sure I have the 375 watt supply, but I'm not sure.

Now, technical people of NSG, recommend me a video card!

Search on NewEgg for the Leadtek 7900+ GT Nvidia GeForce card. It's what I've got in my computer, and this baby can do all sorts of awesome junk. Oblivion on Ultra-High settings, man.

Nonono. That's the GTX. More expensive and not worth the extra price, methinks.

I'd link you directly, but either the item is discontinued, or else the fact that it had a rebate offered at the time meant that they had to place the item back up on a different page when the rebate offer time period was over.

375? Buy a new power supply.

Heh. I can install a graphics card, but I sure as hell could not replace a power supply.

Ohplease. That's just as easy as installing a card. All you have to do is unplug everything, open up the computer, remove the previous power supply, put in the new power supply, and hook up all the power cords. Easy peasy.

Replacing the power supply is easy, its just a 100% legal* simple 9-step process.

1: Unplug computer
2: Remove as many internal components as possible
3: Fill case with rocks
4: Take case to the top of a large building
5: Wait until someone passes beneath you
6: Drop case filled with rocks on their heads
7: Go through their pockets for credit cards
8: Run away
9: Use credit cards to buy a new computer

Ok, it looks as good as any. I shall take your advice.

And if it does not meet my expectations, I shall hunt you down and disembowel you with a rusty spork.

What I was going to recommend, but realized you wouldn't do is take a llok at each companies warrenty policy.

Personally, I'd wait for November; the GeForce 8 series comes out then.

What's your power supply like? Sticking a nVidia 7900GT will stress any power supply less than 500 watts. Oh, that ATI X300 SE is horribly hobbled.

Yeah. Then the 7900GT will fall like $50.

375 is funny number, most new PCs come with at least 400. Might be one of those bizarre tiny ones.
