Has anyone else gotten a phone spam ad for the American version of "The Office." My cell just rang and it was a recording of some character(who I guess is Dwight, I don't watch the show) chewing me out for not coming into work in the morning. Has anyone else gotten recorded ads on their phones?

The company which provided the "service" is called Soundbite and the number that came up on my call ID was from the 781 area code.

Some friend (or perhaps enemy) of yours signed you up for this.

Snakes on a Plane used the same gag, Samuel L. Jackson would call you by name, mention some of your hobbies and such and tell you to go see Snakes on a Plane. You could sign up on a website to have the recorded message with the personalizations (from a preset list, of course) sent to whatever phone number you wanted.

It is SUPPOSED to be fun and entertaining for you. If not, you might want to hunt down all your friends and get them to fess up as to whodunit.
