I've only played on the XBox 360. The PS3 hasn't been released yet. The Wii has a funky control scheme that most die hard players will have a hard time adjusting to.

Plus, several games that have been dedicated to Sony are now (or will be) available on both The Playstation 3 and the XBox 360. And one will only be for the XBox 360 and not the PS3.

first the xbox 360 is okay but i would like the nintendo to do better because of their innovativeness and that they are very original in most things they do. Plus if your a die hard gamer you can adjust pretty quickly. Everything is literal movement

Nintendo haven't let me down in the last 10 years, so I'll be buying a Wii. By contrast, I heard that the PS2 and XBox had errors when they came out, so I'd be wary about their successors. As for XBox, I'm wary of Microsoft products anyway, and XBox games are usually available on PC anyway.

As a Sega Megadrive owner, I look forward to downloading old Megadrive games onto the Wii (if they're not too expensive).

There are plenty of Non-kiddy games on Nintendo consoles. Besides, some of the games with "kiddy" graphics (e.g. Super Mario 64) are very good gameplay-wise.

Depends on what you want.

Innovation? Wii.

Action? Xbox 360.

Storyline? PS3.

Personally I'm going for the Wii, but that's me.

Playstation has some good action titles... and pretty much all the Xbox can hold over the heads of everyone is Halo (IMHO, the most overrated FPS ever).

But, honestly, who plays videogames for the story?

The SNK Neo-Geo, all the way. Easily my favourite console of all time. Hard to find outside Japan, though. I imported mine.

Of those big 3:

Wii will probably win on gameplay. Nintendo has abandoned the never-ending quest for more polygons and instead is trying to make fun games. I'm impressed. Plus, Nintendo's the first console maker in a long time not to sell the console at a loss just to create a market for the games.

The PS3 wins on raw power. Plus, Blu-Ray is vastly superior to HD-DVD (blue lasers will always do better than red because the waves are smaller). Sony's weird marketing may kill it, but if it works they'll make a killing. Unlike Nintendo, Sony will be selling the PS3 at a loss, and it's a huge loss, but in addition to creating a market for their games, they'll also be filling the world with a market for their proprietary DVD format. It's VHS vs. Betamax all over again, and this time Betamax isn't going down without a fight.

The XBox360 has a headstart. Plus they've done some interesting things with networking. I'd still rank them third if not for that headstart.

I voted Wii. I generally despise Nintendo brand products, as well as most japanese made games(I dont go for quirky humor, cuteness, of exhaustable dramatization) except for some squaresoft and maybe the MGS series. The reason I chose Wii is entirely for the promised downloads of older classic games...and its cheaper.

Most people that I know that say Nintendo is for kids have never actually played a Nintendo system, or if they had they'd only ever played crap games.

There are plenty of Non-kiddy games on Nintendo consoles. Besides, some of the games with "kiddy" graphics (e.g. Super Mario 64) are very good gameplay-wise.

Agreed, although I never really saw the graphics as kiddy.

.. I alread have an extensive library of PS and PS2 games... so PS3 will actually be cheaper for me in the long run.

How does that work? You're still paying the same amount of money for the console either way.

I think you will find that eventually you will not be able to improve the graphics anymore, I hope it comes soon so people can realise how important gameplay actually is.

How big a loss are they making? It can't be that big if they're selling it for $1000

Here's the way I figure it.

The Wii is gonna cost $250.00 US, the XBox 360 costs $400.00 US. Combined that is $650.00 US. About the same price as the Playstation 3 alone. Even by pricing, the obvious fact is that the Wii is going to be a different creature from the XBox 360 and the Playstation 3, so having the Wii is going to be pretty close to a must. The Xbox 360, so it has my ringing endorsement.

I say buy a Wii and an Xbox 360, more fun for your money.

How does that work? You're still paying the same amount of money for the console either way.lets look at it this way...

I buy a PS3 for $600. that's for the system, controller, memory card. I can still play my PS/2 Games on it... thus I won't NEED to buy any PS3 games untill I find one that is good (time to research and rent.)

I buy another system for what... $400... (or whatever) and then I have to shell out $50 more per game.

so my library will consist of one game... with a library of games that I need another system to play.

However, my PS3 will consist of... the entire library I had with my PS/2.

to get to the point of my PSX library, I would pay over a Grand in just games alone. and that's not counting my PS2 library. so for me, my library can still be utilized, (no loss of money there.) and I can actually wait to review ps3 games before I buy them. thus reducing cost.

also, if I wanted to, I can pick up PSX and PS2 games cheap. thus saving more money in the long run. my gaming system will take up less space (I can store my PSX/PS2 consoles.) and have (eventually) three systems worth of libraries to choose from to keep me occupied while only using a system that takes up one consol's worth of space on my entertainment center.

Then add the fact that you buy the WII or Xbox... you have to wait for the games to come out... or download old games because you either stored your old systems or sold em. thus your libraries growth is limited. the PS3 will allow you to play your old PS games without the download or wait.

Wii all the way.

It's something new and even if it's a little quirky, it's still better than the others.

to the 360 fans: i hate to say it, but graphics don't make a game. I take a look at half the titles coming out, and seriously, they sound like crap. I can have more fun replaying Link to the Past than I will playing half those games.
The Wii is about doing something new. 360 is about doing something old, but shinyier

for the PS3 fans: three words: "Giant enemy crab"
honestly: $600 for a console is absurd. remind me: how many are shipping out for launch? and how many developers are going to make games for a Max audience that small?
just answer me this: How many games do you still play on your PSP, and how often do you watch movies with it on it with the shiny new disc storage they created for it?
yea: translate that into "PS3" and "Blu-ray", and that's what I see in three months

Idiot. Like they won't make any more consoles or there won't be thousands at launch, like with the Wii or 360. If you want to worry about devleopers making or not making games, worry about them not making them for the wee. How many third party developers are going to want to constantly make their games workable for the special way the Wii works? They could just go work on the PS3 or Xbox 360.

and get flooded by the competition?

"Look! our game is another over-the-shoulder shooter with zombies and no story, except in ours, the flames look prettier!"

the market is stagnating because all of the games are exactly the same the wii features an innovative control system that will allow develpoers to do things they have never thought possible before.

would you rather play a baseball game where you tap the (A) button, or play one where you actually swing the bat?

http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/crash.htmlerr... Sega had a VMU which was revolutionary. but not all the games for their Dreamcast made use of the VMU.

so you could end up with only a handfull of games that actually utilize the remote feature but is just as playable with a regular handset.
