just got this email from him

Hey, I did something funny today.
<his boss>has told me over and over that there is slim to no chance of my
getting a portable computer for my position. We are getting dual
monitors, however. We cannot afford to get enough for our entire team,
so 4 people would be without. I went to <his boss's boss>and told him, to give
him a chuckle, "I talked it over with the other L2's and in order to
provide dual monitors for our entire team, we are willing to accept
portable computers with an added external monitor so that our teammates
might all be able to get dual monitors."


He said it was a good idea and is looking into the cost difference.

I totally bullshitted a user into thinking that the problem with his computer was the boneheaded thing he did (he was pissed but turned contrite when he was "Convinced" that it was his fault.) after examining his pc, it was discovered that it really was his fault (he downloaded a virus)
