Wolf from Gladiators IIRC. The Grand old Duke of York (who had 10,000 men). Richard III, Dick Turpin, etc.

Here, now, King Richard is much maligned. I personally think Henry VII did away with the Princes after defeating Richard.
Here in Colorado we have, let's see, Chivington, who led US troops in the Sand Creek massacre, and more recently, in the 1930's, the governor of our fair state tried to close the border to "greasers" coming up from New Mexico to take jobs away from white folks, and yet more recently, Senator Wayne Allard and Representative Marilyn Musgrave, co-sponsors of the "No Gay Marriage" Amendment to the US Constitution, and everyone involved in the University of Colorado sex scandal last year. Oh, and everyone's favorite, James Dobson!
That'll do, I think. Luckily, they're far outnumbered by the decent people.

I think Dave Coverdale from Whitesnake was a local too but wouldn't put him on the same page as Paul Daniels

I came from a rural come suburb area, so it's yuppies and rednecks trying to co-exists. We're all embarrassed by each other, so I guess it balances.

I live in a very small town. The only remotely famous people from here are a really unfunny old-fashioned comic called Dave Lee and the guy who played Nick Cotten in Eastenders (crap British soap opera).

What about the 900 foot Jesus that Oral Roberts saw in Tulsa, Oklahoma?
Or was he just passing through town?

Considering that I come from a town of 2500 people, I would say that knowing two of these 5 people, and having gone to high school with them... counts rather heavily...
Matt Reed and Kelsey Nerbas... two people I always knew had it in them to go far! Go Matt! Go Kelsey!

Before the congressional districts were redrawn, I was lterally represented by Tom Delay, much to my grave embarassment.
Now my original home district is represented by Dr. Ron Paul.
(Having met both of them face to face, I have quite a bit of respect for Dr. Paul (and that's saying a great deal) and absolutely none for Delay.)

there is a 900 foot Jesus there.... I think the ACLU is trying to have it taken down though....I could be getting that confused with the 800 foot tall cross up north of here though.:p
