more and more nations are starting to hate us because of invading a soverign nations to look for "weapons of mass destruction" that must have just disapperaed. We did so against the consent of UN so yeah we are hated a little but our good old pals still like us. Only nations who like us(with a few exeptions) are on theat statistics I don't see Iraq or many African or South American nations on that list.

I find it remarkable that only the USA and China have a far higher opinion of their own country than of any other...

There were only 5 countries who were asked about. The U.S. and china are two of those countries and are therefore 40% of those who were asked about their own country. You said that it was sad that they were the only ones who said that they likes their countries much more than any other. However, this really isn't that sad since there were only 5 countries w/ that option.

Check again, I said it was remarkable. Why would you think it's sad?

You were inferring that those two countries where unusually arrogant when you are just flat out wrong. End of story.

I never said nor inferred anything of the kind. And what am I wrong about? Saying that I'm surprised to see these numbers?

if the all-seeing-eye blinks does it lose it's omni-regarding status? or can it see through it's eye-lids? but then it wouldn't be seeing it's eyelids and therefore wouldn't be all-seeing. hmmm... just a thought... and i've only had a couple if drinks...

I'd be willing to bet that the Chinese aren't nearly as fond of their country as the poll said. Did I read that wrong, or did that say 90%?

No, it'll be more or less accurate. I'm going back to teach over there in a few weeks. They love their country - genuinely.

Yes, very interesting indeed. I wonder if it has anything to do with the level of propaganda?
