What do you think of the Police?

Synchronicity was the third record I ever bought. It's still my favorite police album, but I do love the song Peanuts from Outlandos d'Amour. WTF is wrong with those guys? Instead of Sting making cheezy adult contemporary garbage they could get their old band back together and entertain me.

Cheese is nice, I like sharp cheese more than the creamy stuff.

They're both good though. I wonder if Andy Summers could play guitar using a pick made from really hard cheese and if it would change the Police's sound?

"Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take" are good songs, but I doubt they have any other good songs.

'Don't stand so close to me', 'Message in a bottle' and 'spirits in the material world'.

You God-damned philistine.

You God-damned philistine. The first one isn't very good. The last two I'm not sure I've heard.
Another not very good song by them is "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic".

"Pull My Strings"

I'm tired of self respect
I can't afford a car
I wanna be a prefab superstar

I wanna be a tool
Don't need no soul
Wanna make big money
Playing rock and roll

I'll make my music boring
I'll play my music slow
I ain't no artist, I'm a business man
No ideas of my own

I won't offend
Or rock the boat
Just sex and drugs
And rock and roll

Drool, drool, drool, drool, drool, drool
My Payola!
Drool, drool, drool, drool, drool, drool
My Payola!

You'll pay ten bucks to see me
On a fifteen foot high stage
Fatass bouncers kick the shit
Out of kids who try to dance

If my friends say
I've lost my guts
I'll laugh and say
That's rock and roll

But there's just one problem

Is my cock big enough
Is my brain small enough
For you to make me a star
Give me a toot, I'll sell you my soul
Pull my strings and I'll go far

And when I'm rich
And meet Bob Hope
We'll shoot some golf
And shoot some dope

Is my cock big enough?
Is my brain small enough?

They defined the eighties. What were you doing during that decade?

Peanuts
Born in the 50's
Be my girl (who doesn't love songs about inflatable sex dolls?)
Walking on the moon
Bring on the night
Bombs Away
De do do do de da da da
Rehumanize yourself
Secret Journey
Synchronicity 1 and 2
Wrapped around your finger

Nope, no good songs there.

I love the Police. Had the Synchronicity cassette when I was a kid, and all of those songs still resonate with me. I even like some of Sting's solo stuff (although he gets worse, and worse.)

I wouldn't really want to see them get back together. It would be more like trying to re-invent the past, and the past is best left alone.

They defined the eighties. What were you doing during that decade? It's a bit of an (okay, a huge) exaggeration to say that the Police defined the 80s, especially considering they didn't exist during the latter part of it.

It would surprise the shit out of me because it would mean my taste in music sucks. I've never considered that possibility.

Sting really gives me the shits, because of his high pitched, whiny voice (eg: Roxanne).

Walking on the Moon (I think that's the name of the song), is my "favourite" Police song, but I wouldn't cry if I never heard any of them again.
