Hi all, I play lead guitar and piano. Id like to set up a band. Distance is not a problem. We could have an international band that meets up in different countries every 4 years or something and play excellent music.

why not an e-band? record your part and upload it to a website for the other band members to do their stuff with. if you've got a forum then bingo!

i'd like to but i only really play the drums these days, and i'm not that good (only been playing about 6 months)
edit: also, what kind of music are you gonna do?

sounds good :)
my drumkit is electric so a) plenty of styles on offer, and b) easy recording

i'd say something rocky would be good for style of course

i also play rythm guitar but badly and not for a few years (since my Marshall broke :()

I've been wanting to start a powerviolence band... I play guitar and sing (scream). Oh, and I've got some songs started.

Powerviolence being a retro movement within hardcore that combines 80s hardcore, 80s grindcore and thrash elements into a fast and chaotic blend.

And a name! :D

If you add a bit of post-rock to that, that'd be awesome.

I got ADD, I lack the attention span to make songs over 45 seconds long. :D

I wish I had a decent program to record on my home computer.

Ive got mics and guitars and stuff....just no recording devices.

E-band....

Hmmm.....

I hate to be the one to suggest such a thing, but...a NS General E-Band, would be kinda fun.

It could be like an "Alan Parson Project" kinda thing, where anyone who wants to submit a song can, and have someone put another instrument on it.

If I had such a program, I'd submit a quick punky little number called "Suicide by Mod", or "Flame War" or something...heh.

I can upload something my friend did... dont worry, not copyrighted :p

Its a funky 80s style techno/keyboard thing that actually sounds really awesome speeded up, with heavy guitars and drums added (heard it done).

Other than that, I can play the triangle quite well...

OOH! And the Tuba! Tuba in a..what was it? Powerviolence band?? Sounds good to me!

i love the idea! :D
(and the songs :p)

i have a decent music production program that's not as comprehensive (or bloody complicated) as cubase, etc, but it very much does the job and i've used it to put together a couple of songs of a friends' band (linky1 (http://www.hlj.me.uk/Audio/Erebus%20song%2024%2707%2705.mp3) linky2 (http://www.hlj.me.uk/Audio/let%20the%20lies%2024%2707%2705.mp3)... both no lyrics or bass tho). i can offer some services in this regard for the "E-band" as well :)

I have the ability to blow into a harmonica. (who doesn't?)
More importantly, I have the harmonicas to blow into.
In keys:
A, B flat, C, D, E, F, and G.
G happens to be my favourite. I have no idea why.

Ah, I also have some sort of microphone thing, that can record stuff.. I think.

I'm a classical singer. If you ever want to do something really cool and experimental, I can do the vocals. Or, I could work as a coach to your singer, if you perfer a more "contemporary" sound.

Contrary to what you think, it actually takes skills to play the harmonica well (just not much skills).

I can play the harmonica, flute, piccolo, tambourine, triangle, viola, violin, and piano (the last 3 crappily). I really don't think these are instruments you'd want in a band, especially a rock band. Still...they might count for something, right? Right?????

Ah, I was exaggerating there. I am aware it takes skills to play the harmonica, as I have been trying to teach myself to play for a while now.
As I have read somewhere: "It is easy to become good at playing the harmonica, and really really hard to get really really good at it."
