Mexican-American War

Here is a subject that I have been looking into lately and, here is what I concluded on whether or not it was a just war.
The spot where American blood was spilt was on DISPUTED territory. This means that the Mexicans believed that this was their territory and the American and Texans (which were Americans by this time.) believed it was American territory. This means that whether or not the war was justified depends on which side you were on. I personally believe that the war was justified because, I believe that that was American land.

I'd say its Mexican land because to my best knowledge they claimed it first and American immigrants moved in (and when Mexico tried to stop the immigration the immigrants went ape shit)

Nothing but aggressive expansion which coined America at the time

I'd say it was all Indian land until the conquest and holocaust perpetrated by the Europeans.

I could be wrong.

But I'm not.

Hey the Mexicans today are stealing our tactic.
Ok, now back to the topic. Yes, it was Indian land originaly but don't forget that the Indians who were their before the Europeans conquered each other to. (Remember the Aztecs.) Also when the Republic of Texas was formed they claimed their border to end at the Rio Grande. So when America annexed Texas it was just picking up it's problem. So like I said before since this was disputed territory there is no clear answer. Also yeas it was Mexican land first but if your claiming that what America did was conquest remember when we did take Mexico City we never took more than the disputed territory.

Correct. Mexicans were there first. But us being Americans, we aren't beyond just moving in and taking over. If you're in the way...

Not that this is always a bad thing :p

Sorry, forgot about the Mexican Cession. Anyways if we are going to play by the hole "You stole my land." bit then every empire to ever exsist, the Aztecs, the Romans, the Greeks, the Turks, the Mongols, the Spanish, ect. were all thiefs. (This includes Mexico because it founded by the land stealing Spanish.) Without imperialism we all would still be divided along tribal lines. Remember it is natural of human beings to want to do better than the people next to them.

You know, we accidentally bring some diseases over there and suddenly we should see a war tribunal for the death of a race. Honestly. It wasn't really our fault. We were just poking around. :D

Germs killed more of the natives than rifles, and Europeans really can't be blamed for that. They didn't even know that germs existed until 1674, and that was Anton van Leeuwenhoek looking at stuff under a microscope.

Well, a bunch of Americans moved in, took over, and joined the US. That makes it ours?

You know, someone better make sure that all those Mexican immigrants aren't reading this...

Well, yeah, actually, in some places. Read up on the Trail of Tears sometime; that's probably the best documented.

To be fair, the Brits perfected the process in the Boer War. That's probably the model the Nazi's used; it was much more orderly.

I say we (America) should have kept mexico in the Mex-Amer war, that way we wouldn't have all this immigration issues crap. (But as far as I think, America started the war by going into mexico, they should have stopped at the rio grand.)
