Election Day

Well, it's that time again.

Vote here: http://www.hlj.me.uk/ns/election/

Note the ease of voting more than once and its consequences.

Any last-minute thoughts on the election?

And, since I am the leader of the Defenderist Party, its manifesto is here:

And one more thing: Vote for a serious party, please. I'd hate the seats to all go to nonsense ideals and idiotic concepts.

What you define as serious, however, is left to you.

I agree that there should be a dedicated election thread, and a poll in it would be nice as a way of following the votes, but it should be started by Ariddia. He has proved his ability to be impartial in these affairs.

A poll is rather difficult with 16 parties. ;) But I'll see what I can do. In just a few minutes.

But we are representing NSG in all its glory. But in all seriousness may the best party win this election. Good luck everybody.

I intended to study quantum physics and couple gravitation into the Unified Field Theory, thus proving once and for all that faster-than-light travel was not only possible, but feasible.

Instead, I make balloon animals and do backflips for little kids' birthday parties and I'm a happier man for it.

Life takes odd detours sometimes. :)

How many seats are there and what do the votes determine?

There are twenty-five seats, meaning that 4% of the vote gives you one seat. Any party below 4% gets nothing; all other figures are rounded so that we end up with all 25 seats being occupied.

OH... OK.

If all of the votes for all of the parties were equal, each party would be given 6.25% of the vote and 1.5625 seats...

OH... OK.

If all of the votes for all of the parties were equal, each party would be given 6.25% of the vote and 1.5625 seats...That would be an odd conundrum; I suppose we would just either trim off 9 seats or add 7.

I know.

Who would want to be .5625 of a seat?

Wouldn't that hurt? ;)

Yeah, I say add 39 seats.

and to ensure fairness, make every party get at least one seat.
