I tend to wash up after using the restroom and usually before eating. Sometimes I skip it though. My dick ain't that dirty and I tend not to piss on my hands. Consider that before shaking hands with me if we should ever meet.

After using the can? Yes. Absolutely. Before eating? Usually only if I handle raw meat or something like that. If I have a compelling reason to wash my hands, sure, I wash them, and after using the can is as good a time as any.

Wash my hands any time I use a public restroom and usually a private one. Occasionally if I am by myself and not eating I will skip.

Tip for teachers: Rubbing your hands together vigorously kills something like 90% of germs.

Do you have any proof of that claim?

For I believe that rubbing your hands together only evenly spreads the germs between both hands...

What I want to know is how many people feel the need to wash their hands after shaking hands with someone? I used to do Model UN in college, and I came back from almost every conference with some sort of communicable disease. Naturally, it was either from shaking so many hands or from general close proximity. Probably both.

Washing your hands is a sign that you don't have any faith in god or jesus.

People who are only christians on sunday will pray in church and make all the outward signs of faith in god, but then when no one is looking, they will spite god by washing their hands.

If you really believe in god and have faith in his power, you would never wash your hands, and entrust your safety to his grace.

I tend to wash my hands whenever I use anything public. Doorknobs and subways more than bathrooms. Bathrooms are some of the cleanest public spaces around because people wisely assume they have a lot of bacteria. It's the places that people think are fine that collect at the filth.

But yeah, I don't piss on my hands and I keep my genitals clean, so I don't worry so much about washing after I potty so much as before I touch my face or eat food. After all, there's plenty of dirtier things around, especially the hands of people you shake hands with throughout the day.

Yes- I've seen another study that found urine, fecal matter and menstrual blood in the dish of mints on the counter in a diner.

One authority speculated toilets were cleaned with bleach & other strong disinfectants and thats why samples from them tended to be cleaner than a soda machine or ice.

Either way-your average person is a careless oozing bag of microbes, depositing and transferring them everywhere they go

i never understood the washing hands after a male taking a pee thing. Hell my penis is prolly the cleanest thing on my body. Its being protected by several layers of cloth all day long make getting exposed to any form of germs FAR less likely then on your hands face or feet or elbows or any of a million other spots on your body. If anything you should wash your hands BEFORE you pee so you dont get your penis dirty. Urine is antiseptic as well if i recall.

I wash my hands as a habit, once in a while I walk to restroom and wash my hands, face and refreshen myself. It feels really good.
While in the wild I don't use soap, use ashes from wood fire with water. They nearly work as good as soap and don't have an alien smell that animals and people can pick up. Good cleaned ash(from coaly pieces) works wonders on clothes, especially underwear.

I very seldom wash my hands before eating. I however do (with, shock and horror, soap) whenever I have taken a dump, and sometimes (if smelly) after peeing. (without the soap, though)

You might just as well be a bit lazy and keep your immune system up to scratch in the process...;) (excessive hygiene can significantly increase the risk of catching something when you do come in contact with germs, as your immune system won't be as well-prepared. no worries though, unless you truly clean yourself obsessively)

That's gross. There have been several tests done. No matter how much you think you avoid getting urine on your hands, you do. Loads of traces have been found in pus bowls of peanuts. Think about it logically too: Your dick is tucked in your underwear. You take it out, you piss, you shake, you tuck it back in. Because of the way it gets tucked in, it means you get traces of urine on your underwear (even if not visible) which transfers to the part of your dick that you hold when you urinate later - which subsequently transfers to your hands... which then transfers to other people, who may not have great immune systems for whatever reason. Plus I don't wanna drink your piss.

Howie Mandel is a US comedian/game show host who has a bad bad case of OCD and is extremly germ phobic. He doesnt shake peoples hand, just kind of "touches fists". He orders dozens of towels in his hotel rooms and makes "towel paths" from the bathroom to the bed and many other completly entertaining and compulsive things.

No, urine exits your body for a reason. It contains the crap your body doesn't want. Stop watching dodgy TV shows.

Besides, how many people are perfectly healthy anyway?

And as for not washing after number 2s... seriously gross. My hands don't exactly smell great after having done a number 2 (and it's not because I miswiped my arse either). I wash them with soap and water till they smell nice.

nobody is, however not many have a UTI which is the only way there would be any bacteria in your urine and even then it's not something that's contagious.

And as for not washing after number 2s... seriously gross. My hands don't exactly smell great after having done a number 2 (and it's not because I miswiped my arse either). I wash them with soap and water till they smell nice.

How did it feel to be your hands?

I never bother to wash my hands after using the restroom. Why? Because I am smart enough not to piss on my hands.

But your penis is part of the general area of your body (abdomen to knees) that has the highest concentration of coliform bacteria. Those are transferred to your hands. Tha's why you should wash after pissing.

You aren't George Carlin. Also, urine isn't the germy part. It's the millions upon millions of bacteria that live in the area, because it's warm, somewhat damp, and not exposed to the sun.

More or less exactly so.

urine is clean, unless you are sick.

Again, it's not the urine, it's the area.

No, urine exits your body for a reason. It contains the crap your body doesn't want. Stop watching dodgy TV shows.

Urine is, unless you have an infection, sterile. However, it's contaminated almost instantly on being passed, due to the high concentrations of coliform bacteria in the area.

I was my toothbrush before using it.

It's important to note one of the reasons why urine is sterile. It's toxic. Even if it wasn't contaminated, it'd be a bad idea to consume it accidentally.

Nope.

the nature of urine

What is urine? Urine is usually yellow or clear, depending upon a person's health and diet. It usually has an ammonia-like odor due to the nitrogenous wastes that make up about 5% of the fluid (the remaining 95% is water). Certain foods can affect the odor, however. For example, asparagus breaks down into several sulfur-containing compounds that imparts a putrid odor upon excretion.*

Urine is a slightly acidic fluid which carries waste from the kidneys to the outside world. The kidneys have millions of nephrons which filter toxins, waste, ingested water and mineral salts out of the bloodstream. The kidneys regulate blood acidity by excreting excessive alkaline salts when necessary. The chief constituent of the nitrogenous wastes in urine is urea, a product of protein decomposition. Urea is, among other things, a diuretic. Average adult urine production is from one to two quarts a day. The bladder, where urine is stored for discharge, holds on average about 16-20 ounces of fluid, though the average discharge is about half that amount. In addition to uric acid, ammonia, and creatine, urine consists of many other waste products in minute quantities.

Being a waste product does not mean that a substance is toxic or harmful. It means that the body cannot absorb the substance at the present time. We might think of many of urine's constituents as if they were leftovers from a meal. We could throw the excess food away or we could eat it later after diluting it substantially with water and putting it in the blender. With urine, unfortunately, we cannot ingest waste products in the form they had when first ingested.

For most people most of the time, one's own urine is not likely to be harmful. However, it is not likely to be healthful or useful except for those rare occasions when one is buried beneath a building or lost at sea for a week or two. In such situations drinking one's own urine might be the difference between life and death. As a daily tonic, there are much tastier ways to introduce healthful products into one's blood stream.
