Godwin's Law?
Yeah, but at this point I don't care anymore, since by starting the thread off by trying to justify 1984, RealAmerica has pretty much invoked Godwin's Law. There are those who hold the opinion that Godwin's Law doesn't have to be just about Nazis/Hitler, but pretty much anything that is seen as a paradigm of evil (terrorists, 1984, etc.).

But it was an absolutely terrible spirit, and incredibly disgusting. Think vodka, only times 10, and bad. And it wasn't that plentiful. It was still rationed.
And to the guy above me-
The theory holds true.
Vodka is but an acquired taste.

Aye, I aquired the taste about a year ago. Then the floor directly underneath me "acquired" the taste after about a half liter of the stuff.
I love the a taste. Gotta take it straight though, because any kind of sugary drink mixed with it just gives you terrible rut gut.
The problem with vodka, as those who have "experienced" it's effects, is that it's a sneaker. With most hard liquors, the effects are gradual, so you know about when to stop. Vodka, on the other hand, hits you like a brick. You take a shot, and feel nothing. Take another a few minutes later, still nothing. Take another, and so on. Suddenly, you're hit with a brick to the face, and a night that you don't remember.
