Hello everyone. I have a DVD stuck inside my DVD player. I just bought it 2nd hand from a DVD hire store. I ripped the 'protective film' from the top of the DVD (so that I can get rid of the store sticker on it). Then I try to play the DVD. It plays fine. But now it won't come out! I click open tray and I see an empty tray, and the disc player closes the door with some effort. Does anyone know how I can get my disc back out without having to get it to Sony?

You should be able to remove the casing and remove the disc. If you're not comfortable with that you should be able to take it to any electronics repair place and have them do it. I doubt they'll even charge you.

happened to me. the sticker actually got the dvd stuck in my player. fortunately, I took the cover off and "flicked" it back down into the tray. If you don't feel comfortable opening the player, or more importantly, the warranty is still good. take it in for service. then clean the adhesive off completely.

Thank you everyone. Thank you. I got the damn thing out.
I have never opened up a piece of A/V equippment before, but it wasn't that different from opening up a PC.

You got it out ok? Are you sure? Ok then try my method with most mechanical devices. Try and try again. Try everything you can think of. Then take the largest damn hammer you can find and pound the crap out of it. Sure makes me feel better for awhile. :D
