Do your parents use pot?

My mother does (I don't), and she's admitted it. It's really not that jarring or everyday a thing, but it's annoying when I stumble across the stash she's randomly decided to hide in a different place. At least let me figure out which places to avoid dammit. It just makes me feel strange, I've never done any type of drugs, and I'm the teen, the one who everyone would expect that such a stash would belong to.It's not affecting us adversly or anything, but it's just... strange. So I wanted to know how common this is. And, am I overreacting by being a little weirded out by it?

Both my parents had done, but had stopped by the time me and my brothers were the right age for experimenting. Nothing weird about it in my eyes.

So ... tell her what you just told us. And remember, it's her job to be a burden to you, though to my mind she's starting a bit early. Seriously, talk to her about it.

I don't want to... and it's kind of fun to say "At least I don't do drugs... unlike some people." everytime she complains about something I do/don't do.

Well considering Dad is in a prison on the other side of the country for being a drug dealer, and has supposidly written death threats, in blood, and advertised himself as a devil worshipper, I doubt I have normal parents. :p

from my experience of parents, they are religious, respectful of the law, strict, and utterly boring.

If she does something that might hurt her, like coke or heroin, say something. Pot makes you tubby from snacks, but it doesn't kill you.

Hmmm... my mom went to summer camp with Janis Joplin. So what does that tell you? Nothing really.

Well, the first time my parents caught me with a pipe that I was holding onto for someone else, I got thoroughly chewed out.

Then, the day a joint fell out of my pack of smokes -it was mine- and my mom found it, I got lectured on the evils of pot. They told me to get rid of it so I went to the backyard and smoked it. They didn't say anything.

Then, right before my father passed away, he gave my boyfriend a bag that he said was probably from the sixties. I think it was catnip.

Then my mother started to date a guy who smoked and was all over from there. The first time I smoked with her was extremely weird. When she started going through my friends to get weed, it was a little unusual. When she tried to grow a plant I just laughed. Now she doesn't smoke anymore and neither do I.

I guess looking back on it, it was amusing and awkward, but it helped me to see my mom as something other than a parent. It can be disconcerting and enlightening at the same time to view a parent as somewhat human.

I think he was just grounded for finding it. He tried it once, and it didn't work on him.

You should call the local law enforcement about it; your mother apparently supports terrorism and should probably be incarcerated... for the security of the nation and obviously, you as well.

Nope, it's terrorist attacks against Israel, supported by her criminal habit. You should be ashamed, and frankly suspected, for having Anti-American parent(s).

oh noes.

Lawmakers and administration officials announced last week that they had reached accord on the plan for the detention and military trials of suspected terrorists, and it is scheduled for a vote this week. But in recent days the Bush administration and its House allies successfully pressed for a less restrictive description of how the government could designate civilians as "unlawful enemy combatants," the sources said yesterday. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of negotiations over the bill.

...

The definition applies to foreigners living inside or outside the United States and does not rule out the possibility of designating a U.S. citizen as an unlawful combatant.

My dad was a pretty big pot head in the early late 60s and early 70s when he was in college, but after he graduated and started working I guess he gradually cut it out of his life. Kind of depressing, in a sense.

I'm an avid pot somoker. My parents don't which is obvious by the fact that they smashed my pipes a month ago (:( :( :( ). However, my best friend's stepmom does. We found her stash. And stole some. It's the most amazing weed I've ever smoked. Stemless, which is a good/bad because I like stems.

My father used to but as far as I know he hasnt smoked a single joint since he died.

I barely remember the first time I toked with my Dad, might be because wacky-backy has deleterous effects on recall or maybe it's because I was a toddler at the time..:p

My dad got my mum to try it once. Fed her a whole budda-stick in a pancake (twit), she freaked out and thought he was trying to kill her. She's more of a boozer.

My parents grew up in the seventies, and went to an art college in New York in the from the late 70s to early eighties, but niether of them did. I mean, wtf? How are you a college art student and not even try drugs? And now they expect that I'm a druggie/drinker, and don't know what to make of it when I don't come home stoned/drunk. My parents set such a bad example for me by not doing drugs, how can they expect that I do them now?

It's possible, my dad grew up in Willits in Mendicino County, it practically grows on the side of the road there. But not so as they'd admit to me.

So I put "No, but don't be such a tight ass about it."

EDIT: Oh, and played flute in a latin jazz band, and listened to Herbie Mann, Herb Albert, and Peter, Paul & Mary...I mean, c'mon...

anyway, no, my parents don't. they know I have done it, and don't particularly care (esp. since I'm over 18 now), but I don't make it a habit to inform them of my drug escapades beyond the occasional "drunk" story.

i knew this cause i booby trapped my stash, and knew someone was their..but obviously never said anything about it...as it would incriminate me.
