Taken with my trusty Motorola cel phone walking home from work today. Does this serve to underscore the extent to which all aspects of life are being politicized, or - does it instead serve to cast light on the problem of urban defacement of public property?

And do any of you have similar photos (I'm fishing for ones you've snapped yourself, not stuff you found on Google Image) - photos of what could either be construed as street-level disenchantment or as simple vandalism?

Opine. Link in. Take a load off. Maybe laugh a little.

Go on, things could be worse.

Make a point without committing a crime. What they did was stupid. I do disagree with them, but if it wasn't vandalism I wouldn't care.

It's disgusting how people are defacing public property -- it's no better than writing it on the library wall. If you want to do something like that, buy your own sign, but don't mess with the one my tax money pays for.

Chill dude - your tax money didn't pay for bumpkiss; that sign is sitting on a pole in my city - and unless you've relocated to the GTA, you're not from here.

Unfortunately, that is not the only sign that has been grossly vandalized by people whose political points are bisyllabic. There are some in my town, too.

Not related to politics, but you might find it funny anyway. (http://tfyp.uni.cc/images/Misc/fart_sign.jpg) Before a piece was torn off, it originally said "INFART".

I enjoy the things like "LIES" scribbled across the cover to the honor-boxes that sell the newspapers.

Also, an awesome peice of vandalism. I live on the third floor of my dorm, and there is a sign that reads:
LEVEL 3

Some rather genius kid burned off the first L and the prongs of the second E, so now it reads:

EVI L 3

It never gets old :p

I happen to agree with the sign.....

I walked home with a friend tonight and pointed out the sign. I mentioned I'd photographed it and posted a thread on NSG about it. He told me flat out he was 'worried about me'.

I asked him why he was worried - he didn't have anything tangible at hand - but he seemed to feel I was somehow tempting Fate, what with the times being as dark as they are - politically speaking.

I'm worried about him -- perhaps he should seek professional help for his paranoia.
