Hard worker are you?

Are you a hard worker/ good student? Do you put a lot of effort into it and get things done of head time? I'm wondering because I used to be like that and now I'm lazy, don't want to do anything, and wait to the last minute.

every report card i ever got said 'could try harder', so no. and i still don't put any effort into anything unless i am being paid and i respect my boss, which is rarely.

I used to work hard, but I kept getting it caught in elevator doors. :(

The only advice my father ever really gave me came from a comic on a t-shirt, a duck giving a lesson to its ducklings-
"Make it look easy, but underneath paddle like hell."

I didn't follow that, but meh.

I go through stages, if it's something I am apathetic about (like school was) I do the bare minimum to get by (which curiously was enough to get a 4.0.... weird)

but most of the time I let my perfectionist self take over and every single thing is a reflection on my character so either I procrastinate out of fear of not getting it done perfect or I over analyze every single detail until something is so perfected that it's idiotic.

I tend to be a very hard worker and probably am addicted, although I am down to 6 jobs, soon to be 4.

I tend to be very lazy with the things I don't enjoy (work, dealing with my ex wife, paying bills) and could be a world champion at prorastination where these issues are concerned.

With the issues I do enjoy (my yoga, running, drinking) I tend to become very obsessed and over the top.

I'm afraid I really am a case of all or nothing.

i got put on daily report in the 2nd year of secondary school for not working at all. i turned that round in the 3rd year to be the second-top student in my year (was only just beaten to top place, grr). the following few years have seen me slowly give up, care less and less, and slide into apathy and depression.
so these days i'm hardly a hard worker. however my parents are the hardest working people i have ever known, and don't nearly get enough credit (or pay!) for it, so if the cause is helping them, then that's my motivation, and i work. sometimes hard. usually not hard enough.

other than that, i'm not much motivated by money or prestige, or whatever, and am a totally and completely lazy useless fuck

It doesn't really matter how hard you try. I mean, how hard you work might have an impact on your performance, but it's really your performance that matters. If you don't have to work hard to perform well, why bother?

I remember in high school I skipped a lot of classes. After finishing a year of math I was written up for having missed 27 classes that term (there were 60 classes per term). So the school administrator sits me down and says, "You missed a lot of math classes last term. Now, you may not believe me, but our studies show that your grade would typically be one percentage point higher for each class you missed had you attended it."

So I looked him right in the eye and said, "You mean I could have scored 124%?"

Sometimes the stuff you're doing is easy for you, and working hard doesn't provide any benefit. If you're good at writing papers at the last minute, then there's no reason for you to work on them in advance.

I have had jobs where I worked my ass off (70+ hours a week) because I liked what I did and I thought it was important to do my best.
I have had other jobs where I half assed it because I did not enjoy what I was doing and the jobs gave me no personal satisfaction in a job done right.

Right now I have the best job I have ever had in my life.
I like my job and I believe what I am doing is important and I get great pleasure when my customers tell me I am doing a great job.
I have recieve more than 30 letters of commendation from customers and those are only a small percentage of the people that I help every day.

I am also a single father which is the hardest, and most rewarding, job that I will ever have.

So, to answer your question, yes I am a hard worker and damn proud of myself for being so.

Back in the days I didn't have to do much to achieve pretty straight A levels, maybe a stray B+ somewhere.

Recently, I has become a real struggle but I'm hanging in there...

I have taken what I term the "Zen Approach" to my education: It will happen, whether I want it to or not, so stressing out or working more than neccessary is just wasteful.
As a result, I am lazy and rush things through in the last second, and it all works out to a nice 3.5.

When actually working, on the other hand (as in, money is going into my pocket), I work as hard as possible and try to run through it all with as much energy as I've got.

What is a 3.5 in metric?

What is a 3.5 in metric?
3.5 is higher than 3.3 (B+), but not quite 3.7(A-).
Unless you were asking for something completely different, in which case I would make a derogatory comment about your mode of dress in order to cover my inadequecies in the face of that question.

I usually work hard in the beginning of the school year, but after awhile I get lazy and my grades start to slip and I gotta work my ass off to pull them back up again. But, its not hard to procrastinate and still get through with decent grades, you just gotta know the minimum amount of work you need to get the grades you want, and rest of the time you can just be lazy as hell.:)

All I now is in metric, 5.0 is as high as you can get (ie straight A's)

Nonetheless, it hasn't let me down so far, I haven't failed anything yet...

I spent the last three hours on NSG instead of doing chem and physics labs. I am anything but a hard worker.

Ours has to be adjusted because we have 5 grade levels instead of 4.

I'm quite a hard worker if I have a specific goal, or immediate task. If not, I'm pretty lazy & just tend to fart around.
