Yep. The rest of the world gets Newsweek talking about the war in Aghanistan, but the US gets Annie Liebowitz.
So to my friends in the rest of the world, if you want to know why Americans seem so damn clueless half the time, this is part of the reason.

Well, if they give us real news instead of "My Life In Pictures" then they might get slammed as "OMG! T eh LIBRUL Media! Why do they hate America!!1one! Why don't they give us good news!!" The war on terror may be losing, but the war on information is going strong.

What's to complain about? In the US version, Afghanistan snagged the coveted "golden corner", where the most important of news stories are displayed/stuffed into.

I'm glad that the world is so much better informed than the USA.
Honestly, it's getting old how the lot of you continuosly criticize America. Which brings some questions to mind. Are you capable of coming up with other type threads? Are you not getting tired of basicly the same type of threads and questions and polls? Are you so closed minded and can only think of America's wrong doing, our biased media, and how stupid the Americans are?
I personally, in my own opinion, am getting bored with the same types of hyper-threads. Please come up with new stuff.
I think we all understand that in the eyes of the people on NSG that America can do no right, we Americans are misinformed by our own very biased right wing media, Bush is the Devil, etc...etc...etc...
I think the time has come to move on...............just my 2 cents :D

Pardon my ignorance, but who in the blue hell is Annie Leibovitz? (I am American and not a Newspeak...err, Newsweek ssubscriber.)
I suppose this tells us where Americans priorities are. I am at a loss for words how this is supposed to be news that beats out Afghanistan.

I guess Newsweek feels that Americans need to be protected from scary things like the truth and world affairs in favor of inane human-interest stories.

Okay, but move on to where, exactly? Don't forget - you're the only game in town after thumping International Communism. what are you expecting us to do - gang up on Lichtenstein? Togo? Micronesia?

I have that edition of Newsweek!, with the muhaidin fighter!
I didn't get the News eek! one, although

Yes, it would be a rotten thing to do, tell people the truth. Hardly something that news organizations are known for anyway. I really can't remember how often the media does any serious in depth research to uncover news anymore. Whatever the number is it is not nearly as high as it used to be.
