Why am I unable to function socially?

For some reason I just can't enjoy communicating with others in the real world, I always daze off and start thinking about something else when talking with others, and i just can't focus, when talking directly to others i have a trouble with thinking of something to say, and people always complain about how quiet I am, and when I occasionally say something it's something nobody really cares about, giving them an "Ok..." reaction.

It's 'cause you're a big dork, and no one likes you. :D

Nah, I'm healthy to the bone, not been diagnosed with anything. But I've never done any tests though.

Stop smoking so much weed, and maybe you'll feel like paying attention.

Maybe you just don't want to talk to these people? In which case, don't. If there is someone that you enjoy talking to, then the words will flow and you'll be thoroughly engaged. If they don't interest you, ignore them.
Sure, this may mean that you only ever notice .001% of the people in the world, but that still leaves you with over 60,000 conversational partners, and that is more than you'll ever need.

I don't think I have ADD, I'm a incredibly calm and relaxed person, i don't hit people or do anything like that.

Í consider them friends, they are nice, and even if sometimes I find people I can talk to really easily, the next day I can't talk to them that easily anymore .s

I don't think ADD means you go around hitting people, I think it means you can't focus on anything and your mind drifts from subject to subject and can't attend to the task at hand. In your case the task at hand is paying attention to someone else during a conversation. I'm not a doctor though. Maybe you should go see one.

Also it could be the weed like Kimchi said. I used to feel a little like you described when I used to smoke weed a lot.

Well, that certainly does sound like me, but we can't be sure since I'm not diagnosed. and I'm not gonna go to a psychiatrist.

Why not? It might be fun. Tell him you've got the power to read people's thoughts and that satan talks to you from inside your sneakers. You might end up getting some interesting meds.

You're 14 and you think way, way too much about how the people around you react to you. Trust me on this, seriously, they are just as worried about what you think of them as you are about what they think of you. Relax. When you have something to say, say it, otherwise, cultivate the mysterious silent thing. In a few years you won't even remembr this.

I'm aware of what you're talking about, I know teenagers are a bunch of insecure idiots who think to much and feel different and as if they are alone in this world.
I've thought alot about human behaviour in my short life of 14 years you see.^^

Not idiots, just teenagers. Your brains are quite different than the brains of adults. And everything, every emotion, love, hate, joy, myrth, everything feels so new, it's as if you're the first person who's ever felt it. There's no way to describe it to an adult, hardly any way to describe it to another teen. And my telling you this won't make a whole lot of difference, I know, but really, you need to think about it less. Besides, I get the impression that you function reasonably well, you just seem to think you ought to function differently.

Eat more iron. Seriously. Iron relates to concentration and ability to focus. You'd be surprised how many people who self-diagnose themselves as ADHD actually have iron deficiencies.

That's called awareness. Some people are overaware of their surroundings, others tend to be more ignorant.
I belong to the first kind, along with giving many things much thought.
Accept it and don't worry about it too much. It really is okay.

just couldn't htink of a better word than "idiots"

When you are a teen you're brain is wacked up with nerve threads [Millions of them] but when you start reaching your 20's the amoutn decreases incredibly much.
It's like when you're making a statue, first you get the the stuff you need from it, and then you start cutting out a nice piece of art from it.

Most forks are made from steel, but yeah :D. By "eat more iron" I mean "eat more iron-rich foods", such as liver, sesame seeds, almonds, wheat, beef or turkey.

Use a cast iron skillet. You get a very small amount of iron in your food and you get to use a superior cooking implement. (Teflon is crap)

You need to make friend with people who are perfectly willing and able to kick you in the groin if you drift away. It really helps build your focusing skills. :)

Yeah, I'm aware of the fact that I can focus more easily when people constantly tell me to.
