Just curious to see what your preference is between Pepsi and Coca-cola.

I haven't had a Royal Crown cola in ages. It really was the best cola drink ever, but I can't find it anymore.

It's still very common in Indiana, but alas it's not well known enough to compete with Coke or Pepsi.

I grudgingly agree. When I was in France it was the only soda I could find (this was many years ago) and I took one mouthful and said "yuck! Orange rind flavored soda?!! (actually I called it a 'fizzy drink' because I didn't have my American accent yet)" But damned if it didn't grow on me.

But I still think it tastes like someone tried to figure out what they could do with the garbage left over after they ate an orange.

Coca Cola is the king of all Cola's. Although Fanta is tasty too.

I think RC is the best cola out there, with Raspberry Cream Dr. Pepper closely behind it, and Coca Cola in third.

If its the company, Pepsi. They seem to have all the good brands...

If its soda, Coke wins. It seems like Coke comes out with new stuff first, then Pepsi copies it (Vanilla, for intsance).

Of the other two Pepsi is a little better than Coca-Cola but Diet Coke is pretty drinkable whereas Diet Pepsi is only fit to make wombats vomit.

Why would you want to make cute wombats vomit, NB? Reminds me of a girl at my college, back in the Pleistocene, who was described to me as being a promiscuous wombat. I think the person describing her just liked saying "wombat." And I always thought "bodacious" was an adjective generally used only to describe females, not kings. I could be wrong, of course, I have been forgetting things lately.

What the heck is with new "Sugar-free" Coca-cola? The actors in the adverts were all like, "Why can't all things come without bad sides?" etc and generally the advertising campaign was banging on like it was something brand new, when Pepsi Max has been on the market for much longer. Pepsi Max tastes better too.

Here's a fun fact:

A few years ago, Pepsi made a huge deal over it's "Pepsi Challenge" taste-testing survey. Apparently, Pepsi beat out Coke in blind taste tests most of the time.

However, experts have determined that the test was biased. The taste tests were "sip tests", in which each subject took... you guessed it... a single sip of each drink.

A sip of Pepsi is always preferable to a sip of Coke because Pepsi is so sugar-sweet. But when you extend the test to a whole can, or even a six pack that you consume over the course of a week, Pepsi becomes cloyingly sweet. Coke, on the other hand, has a much more reserved and satisfying taste.

In short, Pepsi wins 100-meter dashes, while Coke wins marathons.

Ive been rumbled! I do just like the word wombat. Probably stems from always wanting and never having a Hodaka Combat Wombat when I was growing up in that same Pleistocene.

Hm, on the one hand, Coca-Cola pisses off hippy college students by being made out of the freshly harvested blood of underpaid workers and babies from the Third World. I understand that drinking the blood of youth can make my skin look healthy and young, so +50 Points to Coke.
On the other hand, Regular Coca-Cola tastes like battery acid, so -100 points.
Back to the first hand, Diet Coke tastes pretty damn good, so +100 points.
Returning to the other hand, the stuff used to make Diet Soda is probably going to make my testicles explode, or make my head melt, or something equally nasty, so -50 points for inspiring paranoia.

So that gives us 0 points. How useful.

No. It's not a mistake. It's me being honest. They taste pretty much the same to me. Really. They're both basically just sugar with some other stuff. They just taste like sweet carbonated liquid to me.

I dont think he meant it was literally flat. I think he means it doesn't have the "carbon dioxide bite" like coke has. Coke has that much sharper taste that pepsi doesn't have.
