Which of these bands are your favorite and why?

'Recent' bands don't appeal to me, usually. I have neither the time, nor inclination to listen to thm all and decide wwhich ones do and don't suck so I use time as my filter. If a band is any good, they will still be good(if not better) in two years. Or five. Or ten. *nod*
That being said, the band on your list that has demonstrated staying power is Green Day. *nod*

Sorry, because it's true. They all suck.
I can tolerate a bit of AFI (their early stuff) and Franz Ferdinand (their first album). Or old Green Day. Or stare blankly at Audioslave.
But I wouldn't listen to any of them out of choice. There's better modern music out there.

Green Day dont suck....they just arent anything special.

No you haven't. None of those bands are really popular, except maybe Green Day. There's some decent AFI, and maybe a good Franz Ferdinand song, and at least four good Audioslave songs, but that's about it.
You want popular, try Shinedown, or 10 Years, or Disturbed, or Godsmack, or Iron Maiden (yes, after 35 years they STILL kick ass), or a plethora of others...

These ones wouldn't edge out the ones on the poll in terms of sales figures and popularity.
