How Brave Are You?

A recent chat with Nazz on being brave and being right made me remember this.
So, how brave are you?
Not Brave
After a drunken night on the town, you come home and beg forgiveness for your wrongdoings, and sheepishly sign the divorce papers, giving everything you own to your significant other.
Brave:
You come home ,drunk as a skunk in the middle of the night and you see your significant other lying in bed but not sleeping.
You put a chair in front of the bed and put yourself down in it.
When your he/she asks you what the HELL you are doing you reply.
"I just wanted a front row seat to the circus."
Braver:
You come home drunk as a skunk in the middle of the night and you see your significant other waiting at the door with a broom and you say
"Are you cleaning or are you going for a ride?"
Bravest:
You come home, drunk as a skunk in the middle of the night, smelling of perfume/cologne, smelling of hot, sweaty sex, and you see your significant other looking at you with murder in his/her eyes.
You approach him/her, slap him/her on the ass and say
"Giddy up! Now it's your turn!"

You're an odd little man.
And it seems you have absolutely no sense of humor. :fluffle:

Seconded.
That isn't brave, that's suicidal.

Indeed I do, though it leans more towards a preference for Ironic humor. Though I must admit the final two options are somewhat amusing, if only in the manner of contemplating the beating that would result.

no there isn't.
bravery is something that someone with honor would have, no man with any type of honor would treat another person like that (nor would they come home "drunk as a skunk")

Honor is more rare than decency and intelligence combined.

believe me I am figuring that out at a young age. :(

They are brave and they are idiots. Bravery and stupidity are not mutually exclusive.

Divorce papers? I thought giving everything you own to your SO came when you signed the MARRIAGE papers! ;)

I think that what Laerod might be intimating is that what is brave to one set of observers is frank stupidity to others.

the things you describe in the OP are not brave, they are stupid, I have found a few people that agree with me, but since you don't....I guess that makes me wrong?
okay, whatever.

often, a good defense is a good offense. If you've ever actually been in a position like he described, some of the choices arent so outrageous anymore. They work.
Its also aggravating to see people that have never had to exhibit courage speculate about it too.
I think that what Laerod might be intimating is that what is brave to one set of observers is frank stupidity to others.
Basically, yes. I've reconciled my definition of bravery to simply cover a disregard (blatant or calculated) for personal safety.

No, it doesn't make you wrong, and it doesn't make them right.
Which means that some will think a brave act is stupid, and others will not.

I am very brave.
I am NOT very stupid, so none of those options appeal to me in the slightest. I would never consider treating a partner so shabbily.
This response should not be considered a lack of sense of humor on MY part...

Er, I'm going to 'ironically threadjack' this and attempt to turn it into a proper thread.
I would say I am a reasonably brave person. Most of the time I'm quite an ordinary, reasonable guy, but I have a give-anything-a-go attitude that often surprises even the people who know me. Having said that, I don't think I would ever be able to do a truly brave thing, like fight in a war.

Fighting in a war doesn't necessarily mean you're brave. It could mean that you were conscripted, driven to the front in a truck, and dropped off with an empty rifle, and told that if you were found in the rear areas, you would be hung from a tree. In that case, trying to get home might be brave (or stupid, depending on your point of view).
On the rare occassion that I come home rip roaring drunk and filled to the gills with artificial courage in the middle of the night I'd hope my signifother would be staggering in right next to me. After the rare silly night drinking we'd need eachother to lean on just so that one might be steady enough to get the key into the lock so we can enter the house.

When two people disagree with each other, they consider each other wrong. Surely, it can't be any other way?

Hahah or could it?
If you realise that 'Truth' is subjective anyway then, being wrong or right is purley upto how you view things. If you realise this then chances are that you can also realise that, that just because I think you are wrong does not nesicarily mean that you are. Hehe there is/are always another way.

Thinking that the other person is wrong was exactly what I was talking about. Obviously you can't know for sure - we work on what we can deduce, not what is actually true.
