Is there any good news in existance today? By reading these threads, seems as if there is only bad and negative things. Aren't you getting tired of reading so much negativity. Surely there is more good in this world than bad.
Is it to much to ask to give good news and happenings a chance to surface.

I just saved 15% or more on my car insurance by failing my drivers exam! Surely that's good news.

1 - The idea of clinging to the hope that a zombie will make the world a better place and bring free ice cream is often referred to as "Good News". This is, of course, opinion because we all know zombies hate ice cream.

I'm not allowed to drive, so I'm not on the list of drivers on the car insurance, therefore I don't have to pay.

At least I'm not the only one puzzled by his capitalization of "Good News".

Well, let's see, remembering what I read in the newspaper this morning:
There's a coup in Thailand, which is quite a good thing if you happen to be a Thai General. Not so nice for the PM, though.
There was probably some business about torture and Iraq, but I quit reading all that stuff months ago. Same old, same old, really. Good news if you like things to be repetitive, though.
There was a piece about Chan Marshall's recovery from alcohol abuse and gains in self-confidence, which means that her stage shows and music will continue their recent downward slide. Yet another musician lost to damned sobriety.
Chavez called Bush the Devil, which means nothing, really, because people have been calling Bush the Devil since a few days after he took office.
They found those 3 million year old bones, which means that the girl they used to belong to died a horrible and early death.

I suppose you could take some consolation in the fact that you weren't hit by a truck today.

Wasn't there a case in Missouri last year where a woman cut the baby out of another woman and ran off with it? Or was that Kansas?

There are many good news. People and news services focus on the negative stuff because that's what's considered important. After all, it's what has a greater probability of affecting you.
