Linky (http://www.save-vegas.com/)

Above is a viral advertisement site, created in disguise by Red Storm Entertainment to promote "Rainbow Six: Las Vegas." Complete with faux-amateur video.

Am I the only person who is sick of these types of advertisements?

Then quit linking to them.
As long as people continue to direct each other to that sort of crap, then it will be successful, and as long as it is successful advertisers will keep churning it out.

And I'm sick of people misusing the adjective "viral." Its only "viral" marketing if it is marketing by way of ultramicroscopic, metabollicaly inert particles that consist of RNA in a protien based sheath.

There are DNA viruses too.

There are viruses that encode metabolic enzymes to be transcribed/translated in the host cells. Reverse transcriptase is their backwards link from RNA -> DNA.
