I was watching the speaches from the UN and the reaction to them from CNN and FOX. The TV reactions really show what is a major stumbling point in international affairs an inability or unwillingness to listen/understand the other sides point of view. Presidents of Iran and Venezuela were quite critical of the West(the US in particular) and the UN, many of their points were accurate. TV Networks only label them as nuts and refuse to acknowledge any of their grievances.

Two examples-Iran says UN and the Veto system is disfunctional and undemocratic and must be reformed, he's absolutely correct but the US media's I watched never touched on this valid point.

-Chavez was quite nasty on his comments directed at Bush but that should be no surprise as he is quite likely correct that the CIA would like him dead.-his point that the USA harbours two terrorists that blew a Cuban airliner out of the sky in '76. Here is a BUSH quote on harbouring terrorists “one of the lessons learned after September the 11th is that we must hold people to account for harboring terrorists. If you harbor a terrorist, if you feed a terrorist, if you house a terrorist, you’re as equally guilty as the terrorist.”
The journalists from CNN and FOX never even attempted to address that as a honest journalist should they only complained of the tone of Chavez's speach not it's content. FOX reporter actually called Chavez's speach "Blasphemous"-evidently FOX has now elivated Bush to a God status.

However much you disagree with your opponent if you refuse to listen you can never solve your differences.

CNN has mentioned it several times, although the UN is not democratic, nor has it ever been. Countries did not get the Veto because of democracy or justice, but because they were major players in the Alliance that defeated Germany, Italy and Japan during the Second World War.

I thought the situation with the two guys who blasted the airliner had changed, more towards the Cuban favor. And what the hell are you doing watching FoxNews?
