There comes a time in any every inactive forum fossel's life when they have to make the traditional complaint post, and this is mine. I get that the brilliant writers of yesteryear are gone, and younger, newer generalites are steping in to fill their places, but enough is enough. The bullshit has to stop. There is only so low the general quality and substance of posts can drop before we re-open NS are MySpaceI Version 2.0. That said, I've compiled a list of what NOT to do on general.

1. Start a 'Do you hate dubya' poll
It's been done to death and since few of us know him personally, the topic is quite moot.

2. Post pictures of yourself and your boring-ass room
Rule of thumb: If your bedsheets could be transplanted into the 80s, keep your webcam off at all times.

3. Create the classic 'Fox iz da Biased' thread
We get it. Fox is Satan's personal porn network.

4. No Trekkie, Trekker, LoTR, Pokemon or other such nonsense themed threads.
Jolt is nerdy enough already, don't make me take your lunch money.

5. Enough 'do you hate jews' and 'israel is evil' threads.
We all are secretly disappointed in Hitler's failings.

6. There is no God. Deal with it.

7. Most of us have relaxed our spelling/grammar-nazism. In spite of the aforementioned, 'omgz u iz da l0zr!111one' is NOT an acceptable thread title.

8. The NS General Election is the height of inanity and we need to accept it.

9. No, I will not read you Blog, website or forum, or add you to my IM, you just aren't badass enough

10. Stop hitting on Grace. The woman may be hot, but I'm handy with a knife and quick to anger.

Well I for one wholeheartedly agree with Rotovia. I've been on NS going on 3 years now and everytime I look in General I see the exact same nonsense. The same overdone polls, threads and just plain garbage.

Though I must admit, being a member of GaiaOnline, the NS General forum is innumerally better than the "Chatterbox" on Gaia. If there is one thing in the world that will make you want to have every child between 12 and 16 euthanised, that'd be it.

No, I refuse to name her. As to the circumstances: one of my old friends from high school was using a suitemate's laptop, chatting with the suitemate's friend for no real reason. So she demanded to talk to one of my friend's contacts. And I just happened to come online around that time, and my friend had told her rather a lot about me, so she decided I was reported interesting enough with whom to chat. Aaaaaaand...um...wait, where was I? O, right. So anyway, I guess I somehow charmed her into another conversation. Things just kinda developed from that for about...six days or so (yeah, we moved pretty fast :p)....Eh, and then we just kinda figured that, even though I can't make it to see her (she lives three hours away) for a month, that we were...erm, quite taken with each other, to put it lightly.:p So the official calendar date on that is the 9th....Oh, and to put our mutual interest into context, we spent 49.25 hours over six days last week communicating....And we didn't sleep last night/this morning. Well, she did, but that was only three hours after we got off the phone at four this morning.:D:)

LOL Yeah, it can be hit-or-miss that way....The closest I got before was...one time zone? I think. But that was...different. Usually the best I got was a minimum of six....But yes, it is convenient. Too bad funds and timing aren't more convenient...but those things can be more easily rectified than compressing space-time to adjust the time zone issue....

I get that the brilliant writers of yesteryear are gone, and younger, newer generalites are steping in to fill their places, but enough is enough. The bullshit has to stop. There is only so low the general quality and substance of posts can drop before we re-open NS are MySpaceI Version 2.0. That said, I've compiled a list of what NOT to do on general.

1. Start a 'Do you hate dubya' poll
It's been done to death and since few of us know him personally, the topic is quite moot.

2. Post pictures of yourself and your boring-ass room
Rule of thumb: If your bedsheets could be transplanted into the 80s, keep your webcam off at all times.

3. Create the classic 'Fox iz da Biased' thread
We get it. Fox is Satan's personal porn network.

4. No Trekkie, Trekker, LoTR, Pokemon or other such nonsense themed threads.
Jolt is nerdy enough already, don't make me take your lunch money.

5. Enough 'do you hate jews' and 'israel is evil' threads.
We all are secretly disappointed in Hitler's failings.

6. There is no God. Deal with it.

7. Most of us have relaxed our spelling/grammar-nazism. In spite of the aforementioned, 'omgz u iz da l0zr!111one' is NOT an acceptable thread title.
